N'wide @ Charlotte Race thread

I bet if Kyle focused all of his attention on the cup side he might be a competitor in the chase, or even finish a race at Kansas.

I dunno. They tried that before and it didn't seem to make too much difference. I honestly think it's just the simple fact that the competition level in Cup is so much higher than that of NW and Trucks, and therefore Kyle can't dominate there like he does in the lower series.

As far as this whole ongoing argument over Cup guys in NW, I think some of you on both sides have made good points. I'm more on the side of getting the Cup drivers out of the lower series, but like Bobby said earlier in this thread, as long as we see a good race, I don't care who's in it. Last night I saw a good race. Yeah, Kyle won again, but he didn't dominate the whole thing and have an 11 second lead the entire time. For most of the race, he didn't even have the best car. He really had to step up in the end and earn it over two NW regulars, and it would have been three had Larson not hit the wall.

I almost skipped the NW race last night and I'm glad I didn't. I was entertained, and in the end, that's what matters the most to me.

I think some guys, especially Kyle do much better when racing NNS and NSCS. I also think Carl Edwards is one that benefited from running both too cause his performance has really been down since.

Dont get why people have such hard time grasping that concept.

The race last night was a pefect example of those up and coming drivers showcasing their talent. Larson and others. winning isnt the only way to show what you have. Seems to me that passing Kyle Busch for the lead must mean something to a potential employer.

Well Larson has had some good runs on this series. Even should have 2 or 3 wins by now if it wasn't for the Cup guys.

Sure you can still show your talent but the exposure is limited. If you're not winning you're just not paid that much attention. I dont think you can deny that.

Those wins that Larson should have here that he doesn't are a big difference. Not so much in his case because we all know he is headed to Cup next year anyway but for someone who doesn't have a ride, a win or two should raise some eyebrows. As long as guys like Brad, Kyle and Logano and so on are getting in the way of these young guys, their shot at making a big name organiztion notice you are slim.

I am hoping Fox and NBC choose to focus more on the NNS regulars than the cup regulars. Want sponsors to start looking at NNS regulars? Then have the networks talk about them more.

Hey, I even used the little emoticon and everything.

Seriously though, the only way they can make the last three races more exciting is to add a fourth at Martinsville. That race should be on the schedule for Nationwide.

It was. It got pulled after like 1 or 2 races recently. I wonder why.

There was a lot of media time when speed was on. they usually had a N'wide spot or a truck race spot or both if they were racing that weekend. I don't think it is any coincidence that Camping World is not sponsoring the series next year..The truck coverage except the race has been almost completely eliminated.

Camping World dropped too? That is news to me.

Jeez, for everyone that was complaining about last night's race; this is the correct race of the weekend to complain about for lack of excitement. Seriously.

Not that recent. They quit racing Nationwide @ Martinsville in 1994 after a 12 year run. They tried it one more time in 2006 and never brought it back. :( The trucks are there and put on a heck of a show. I wish they'd make this a triple header for the fall at least.
