FINALLY!!

After 2-plus weeks of fluff and hype, the NASCAR season can get underway!!

But we still have to listen to DW - and this week, since Mikey won't be driving, we get the "distict pleasure" of listening to him too! Oh, BOY!

  • In the Booth: Mike Joy, Darrell Waltrip, Larry McReynolds
  • Pit Reporters: Steve Byrnes, Matt Yocum, Krista Voda
  • Hollywood Hotel: Chris Myers and Michael Waltrip
  • Virtual Garage: Jeff Hammond

I wonder if we've ever had a rookie with so many people interested in their results before?

Dale Earnhardt Jr. perhaps?
Maybe Kevin Harvick after he took over the 3 (29)?
But there is no doubt that Danica will be one of the main stories every week - especially while DW is in the booth.

Are there any here?
Yeah, I don't have much of a problem with either of them. I know many here do but I also realize that this forum is not the general consensus of the average NASCAR fan. People on here are far more negative than positive about the sport then most of the people I know that follow NASCAR.

OK Mr. highfalutin nascar fan, you keep this up and I'll post that pipe picture just for you.

Doesn't it drive you nuts when DW says stuff just to say stuff? He sounds like he's talking about it more than he knows about it.

He's a color commentator his job is to say stuff just to say stuff

At least he doesn't use a telestrator like john madden

Well, DW doesn't listen to anybody, so that's probably why. Sometimes it's amazing how much he misunderstands what is happening on the track, even with replays piped to his desk.

It's not just here. I've seen different forums and websites with comment sections that echo what's said here.

They're here!!!
Just got a call from my daughter who saw the #11 and #16 trailers go by where she's at.
So I'm parked on a dirt lot not too far from home hoping to catch a glimpse of one.

Who was leading?

Hamlin, then a Ford racing diesel, then Biffle.
Haven't seen any more since.

Bought tickets to the Phx race long ago with pit passes. Then won free tickets from PIR and Subway Chalet access. Super stoked! Sunday can't get here soon enough! My favorites this weekend are Jimmie, Kevin and Tony.

DW has forgotten more about Nascar than most people know. I don't know how many times he is up in the booth explaining what a car is doing and seconds later the driver says the same thing to his crew chief. Turn the sound down and listen to those screaming idiots on MRN who don't know anything, but if they scream loud enough, you might think they do.

Danica in 7th place in the cup cars. Who would have ever figured!:D

Nothing like giving an advantage to the guys who run the NW races then race CUP.

Couldn't disagree more. Especially MRN but both MRN and PRN have, by far, the best NASCAR announcing teams in the business. They always have been the best IMO and they are far from being unknowledgeable in this sport.

I am not a big DW fan , but you are right , past champions (and Hall of Fame drivers) don't get much respect from fans who didn't actually see them race. Especially if they don't run well at the end of their careers .

Wow, did they slow the Cup cars down that much? I see falloff in our future. This just may be a good race to watch from start to finish.

I know, I know. EVERY race is a good race, every race day is a good day.......etc, etc, etc.
