Ok so last story. My wife is the tall attractive kind so she fits in with all the wife/gf looking types where ever we go. Why she married me, I don't know. Anyway, she is a fan of the 19 and bought a new tank top for the weekend. Well sure enough she walks right through security without any question, stands right in front of the fan barrier, and gets a hug from cousin Carl. I was on the other side of the gate just watching everything unfold because I knew what was about to happen. haha. He walked up and she yelled out "Cousin Carl"! lol and he just laughed and she took a selfie with him. Then he gave her a hug and all the girls behind the barrier said, "awww I didn't get a hug!" lol.
Anyway, this is the shot right before all of that went down. You can see Carl in his yellow firesuite and my wife is the tall blonde in the orange tank top right in front of the fan barrier, blue and white dale jr hat on. Notice all the security around, and they couldn't care less.

One more pick of the 19 team on pit road.
I don't know either:D

Fantastic, Javier.

I'm jealous and envious.
Thanks, regardless of what the critics say about the state and direction of NASCAR, we enjoyed the whole weekend to the fullest extent. Sure, there always are things that need adjustment, changes, tweaking, but overall it is a great experience. A NASCAR finals is one of those things a fan should try to do in his lifetime (money and time permitting, of course) I know I will renew as soon as I get the call, who knows if Jimmy ends up going for 8th next year...

Sounds like a great time. The sport needs more fans like you.

Thanks, try it sometime in the future, it was great, the pit pass gave us a huge opportunity.to go behind the scenes and watch it all up close, as well as get up close with the drivers. We even managed to slip into the pits during qualifying without hot pass, unnoticed...

Oh, I've roamed the pits at many tracks over the years --- even a couple of the garage areas with the mother-in-law of a driver --- back in the day
before hot passes.
I just loved your pictures. You and the boys looked like you were having a grand time.

Was Sherry around? I think it would be cool to meet her since she seems to be such an influence on Truex.
As far as I could tell, she wasn't there. It was only him, 1 PR rep and 2 security guards.

Uf, wicked cool... We had the greatest time at a NASCAR race so far, waiting for ticket renewals to go again next year, since these 2 tracks (Daytona and Homestead) are close to home, I can make it without much hassle.

Thanks! We sure had lots of fun! Contrary to what I read around, the pit pass gave us a whole new level of experience at the race, a different and very exciting angle, from garages, to the inner workings, to bumping into drivers and personalities, practice, qualifying. And the people were awesome (fans, officials, security, etc), the environment was very festive, the weather was great, we drank, ate and screamed our hearts out. All 3 races were great, it's like I tell those who constantly complaint, while I respect everyone's point of view, we choose how to see life in front of us: a glass that is half empty or half full, we chose half full, and enjoyed all weekend at the track accordingly, kinda felt like being in Disney World: get up, head to the track by 9am, spend all day until the wee hours, come back home to sleep, repeat the next day... All this was made better because we were a bunch, so we pooled resources and distributed tasks (photos, autographs, merchandise), we accomplished much more than expected given the crowd. Can't wait for next season! :D (my videos are coming soon)...

I apologize if this is in the wrong place, but I couldn't find a better thread. My wife is hooked on racing after she went to Darlington in 2015. She liked it so much we went back last year plus the Talladega fall race. We have tickets for both Talladega races and Darlington in 2017.

We're looking into the Atlanta race in March and was wondering if anybody has advice on seats. From youtube videos I like the view from the Champions upper sections and have it narrowed down to seats at the dog leg before the start/finish line or right at the line. I found seats between rows 40-49 in each location.

Any thoughts?

I don't think you could go bad with either choice....... The before the dogleg seats gives you a better view of turn 4....... start finish line gives a better view of the pits... but... it's really a toss-up as each should be excellent....

Thanks. We decided to go with the start/finish seats, section 246 row 41. We figured if we don't like them we'll try the other seats next year.

Just in case you guys didn't know, Smoke used a special paint scheme at Homestead. It had photos of past Championships in the hood, signatures of the 280 Stewart-Haas employees on the rear sides and a list of victories on the back bumper. You can see some of those details on the photos above...

Just found this forum. I figured this would be a good first post.

For the June Pocono race i was selected to be a Natures Bakery "Fantern" . I was able to meet the crew, tour a hauler (for some reason Tony's not Danica's but it was still cool). We (my dad & i) also got a garage tour, provided food and drinks. I also got to chat with Danica for a bit, both Sunday and Monday before the race started. She was very polite, talkative and seemed really interested in what i was talking about. It felt like we had been friends for years. I have Cerebral Palsy and use my wheelchair to get around the garage. Sorry if the pictures are at a lower angle than you would expect. Anyways, I took quite a few pictures. Here they are:
