RACE thread --- Daytona 500

I also feel bad for everyone on here who looked forward to today’s race and can’t watch tomorrow, I seriously feel bad. Don’t forget to set that DVR though and watch when you can. I myself hate missing races too.

Well, that was kinda painfull. See ya sports tomorrow.

Yep. I'm stunned that 90% of fans seem to not have a way to DVR races. If you're that big a fan I would think you would gladly fork out the money for one. I got YouTube TV (and previously had DirecTV) solely for this reason

Even if there is a curfew, is anything gonna happen? Does anyone really think the Daytona Beach PD is gonna roll up at 2:05 AM and be like “yeah could y’all please stop, people are trying to sleep.”
That's when the POTUS stands up and says let me make a call and get that curfew changed to 5.00am.:)

Well, I'm very lucky I picked up a morning shift when I usually work evenings!

Teams told to uncover cars.

What are they doing to these poor drivers and fans. Just let everyone go home for the night!
They don't believe in what the radar shows them. Not rocket science.

Yeah, but if they race at Atlanta it would be chilly and fans would have to wear a sweatshirt.
I’ve been to 1 day race in my life and **** that ****. I’m a beach bum and love the sun but I roasted my ass off that day. Every race from then on has been a night race. I’m more than willing to take a chilly day at the track with some hot coffee and a cookout than being in the wide open in the sun at the track.

That's so beyond the point. I have a DVR. I can watch it live but I have on-call obligations that I need to be on standby for. Plus, it's not the same as watching live.

And none of here are as inconvenienced as the people who spent money to be there.

They waited until after night fall in the middle of torrential rain to tell fans to go home.

I’m sure this will go over well.

They waited until the normal tv window closed to announce. I knew there was no way they were racing so i hit up target and dunkin. It's actually easy to be one step ahead of them at this point given how they/tv run the show.

The attending fan does get screwed. If this was any other race than the 500 tomorrow's starting time would be 11 am or noon. But, since they need to scrape up any bit of tv audience they're going to run it at 4.

They could see the radar too, and could have left any time they liked. I've had to make that call. It's one of the risks one takes when attending a live event.

Parking lots open at 11am and gates open at 1pm but you’ll have to stick around another 3 and a half hours on a Monday to watch the race.

Looks good out there, looks like a good crowd too! I stayed home from work for this hope it’s a good race!

Oh my gooood **** the sanctioning body so much!!! Get on with it!

Are Jaime and Larry Mac allowed to order a Pizza or make Nacho’s while viewing the race in that studio?
