Get the feeling teams are starting to figure out the loopholes they can use with the 5 minute rule.

Wait until a piece flies off the car and hurts someone because the crew was rushing to finish repairs in less than five minutes. That will be fun.
 
When does the clock stop? What is a repair vs a normal pit stop? Would Johnson be on the clock for the rest of the race?

Time starts at the pit entrance line and ends at pit exit line.

Complain about that.

Exit pit road
Repairing damaged parts of the body would be the repair, putting on four new dr feel goods and adding fuel would be a normal pit stop

Edit, yes I do believe he would be on the clock for the rest of race

Yeah, I'm wondering if it is five minutes of total repair time or if a team can make as many 4:59 stops as needed until repairs are complete.

I think when they get up to speed on the track, they get another 5mins clock next repair stop.
 
Dale Jr is happy with his restrictor plate with bigger holes ;)

They have to demonstrate minimum speed after every repair stop. If they do they can stop as many times as they like.

No, once you demonstrate the car will run at minimum speed, the clock stops. You still can't go to the garage, but you can then make additional repairs.
 
So if a team doesn't think they're going to meet the minimum speed, can they go back down pit lane and start the 5 minutes all over again?

Oh well. Car looks strong. Woulda been nice to win but save that for Sunday now.

Had the 88 won this one would have an 8 to 10 ratin' too.
 
Due to Wesley's ****** Wi-Fi and the garbage Fox Sports Go system, I missed the end of the race. Probably a good thing though as Jr lost :(, But he has a great car for sunday and Chase got a win tonight, so all and all pretty good.
 
500 should be good. Been good racing so far with The Clash & 150s
 
Meh. Race 1 was much better overall. Gen 6 cars still suck on plate tracks.
 
Meant to add super glad for d.j. kennington from Canada making the show.
