He doesn't have to worry to much about speeding or turn signals here. I think most of the traffic in California is going 90+mph anyway and very few use their turn signals. The only thing that slows them down is a traffic jam which is usually caused by a 90+mph driver.
He also said Jimmie Johnson passed Chase Elliot when Elliot was trying to pass him after running him down. Idk how they miss so much.Mike Joy does this multiple times every single race
Probably need to spend a day in the racing booth. looks awful easy from the couch without the director talking in your ear.He also said Jimmie Johnson passed Chase Elliot when Elliot was trying to pass him after running him down. Idk how they miss so much.

Probably because they are looking out the window, looking at monitors and have a director shouting in their ears all the while trying to tell YOU about it. More than likely Joy was watching something else, the director shouts 'pick up the battle between Johnson and Elliott, looks at the monitor and sees Johnson putting distance between himself and Elliott and wrongly assumes that Johnson had made a pass. Easy enough to do.
I think NASCAR’s been consistently going in wrong direction for years.
The stands were pretty empty this weekend. For the longest time I would have agreed with you. Now I think there are some good things mixed into some of the really off-base decisions they are making. Regardless, the low downforce race package MIGHT have appealed to the 10% of the race audience that is into absolute purity of the sport "whatever the hell that is" but it was a crashing dud with the bulk of the audience that is more interested in being entertained than any purity.

I’ve been going to ACS for over twenty years and I’ve witnessed the fluctuation in attendance numbers. It isn’t trending upwards. It's NASCAR in southern California and there was a pretty good chance of rain. Is this news?
I admittedly did not consider the network director being in your ear..at the end of the day, you are doing a job I suppose, and not just watching the race. I still think it can't be too hard to notice these things. But you're right, I don't have the perspective to judge this.Probably need to spend a day in the racing booth. looks awful easy from the couch without the director talking in your ear.
As I said to standonit, yeah, I had no idea that's how that works. I genuinely thought the commentators are talking about a mix of what they want/what the monitors show.Probably because they are looking out the window, looking at monitors and have a director shouting in their ears all the while trying to tell YOU about it. More than likely Joy was watching something else, the director shouts 'pick up the battle between Johnson and Elliott, looks at the monitor and sees Johnson putting distance between himself and Elliott and wrongly assumes that Johnson had made a pass. It isn’t gonna spring back ever. And your is what, that there would be more people in the stands if the cars were separated in different zip codes like so many of the 2018 races? It took NASCAR over a decade to drive this sport into the ground, it isn't going to spring back to life overnight, no matter what rules packages or anything else that NASCAR implements.
Love the guys attitudeHe doesn't have to worry to much about speeding or turn signals here. I think most of the traffic in California is going 90+mph anyway and very few use their turn signals. The only thing that slows them down is a traffic jam which is usually caused by a 90+mph driver.
They should’ve left the 2018 package intact.
Yep agreed, that was some of the best racing I can remember in a long while. It was awesome. I never understood why they made such radical package changes from such an exciting season.
Probably from looking at the stats from Auto Club and others, it was one track that needed help. When they couldn't manipulate the race ending under GWC like they had the previous years, in 2018 because of fan pressure to let it go without manipulating the ending, Truex won the yawner at Auto Club by almost 12 seconds.
Yeah I would forget that one lol. Do you remember Vegas last year though? That one was boring as hell too probablythe worst one all last year. You can't get away from boring races. There's always going to be some race that is boring regardless of the package.
Frustrated Toyotas and a discouraged Jimmie Johnson all chased Alex Bowman at California
Bob Pockrass
“The racing is such s— right now,” Busch said about the way drivers are digging for spots with little regard for others. “There is no wherewithal. There’s no care. It’s just a dogfight. I guess it is what it is.”
The dogfighting appears to also happen in the tech bay. Last week at Vegas, all the Toyota teams lost practice time because NASCAR felt they had too much bondo in an area that messed with the required shape of the right rear wheel fender.
A few of the JGR teams also were penalized 10 points at Vegas for a piece of plastic behind the Toyota decal on the nose of the car.
Then in the last couple of days at California, Truex had his tech issues. And the Chevrolets of JTG Daugherty Racing’s Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and Ryan Preece had a body panel that disrupted the air flow around the car during qualifying. They were docked 10 points and had their crew chiefs ejected.

yeah it's ok. There is plenty of plastic and Bondo to go around"They gave a gift to the Chevy teams in the offseason. It’s all about how you play the politics, I guess.”--KB.....What everybody knows, but nobody is talking about. I don't have a problem with what NASCAR did for Chevy, but do not hammer on MY Toyotas for sucking because they don't. It's just that Chevy has so much more by design. I love the fight. Totally stoked to see my TRD guys get what Chevy has without the gift. Pressure is on Chevy. Don't choke.
yeah it's ok. There is plenty of plastic and Bondo to go around
The coolest thing about this sport is that TRD has already identified where they are lacking relative to the new Chevy, and they are trying to level the playing field any way they can. The truth of the matter is, however, that NASCAR has to have Chevy get better. It's going to be very difficult to battle not only Chevy, but Chevy's sugar daddy, NASCAR, as well. Gonna be fun though!
yeah it took virtual rocket scientists to figure out to work the nose and the right rear quarter panel for better aero.
Maybe Chevrolet should be like Toyota and concentrate on 5 cars. Ford could follow and we would have 15 cars in a race. You Revman say you don’t like dominance but you could have fooled us.
Well, the "rocket scientists" at Chevy couldn't figure it out....the first time around. SMDH. #ThinkBeforeSnark
Bondo. Has it all just come down to Bondo? Wind Tunnels, computer modeling, simulators, testing -- and Joe brings the Bondo...
Xfinity Tupperware outpacing Cup Cans? Where's the magic? What happened to high tech engineering, speed, and aero of the future?
Bondo.
