RACE thread --- Indy

Loving the green flag stops.

Also great job by Menard trying to block Kyle on pit road

God this sucks. Is this what you old timer's want this sport to be like? No cautions, no chance to catch up, no competition whatsoever. Just watching Kyle Busch turn laps for 3 hours.

I'll take this over false cautions and shot clocks to artificially bunch up the field.

Part of this is the track, which doesn't normally produce an entertaining race.

'Bout time for Joey to pit.

EDITED: Looks like everyone else is coming in too. Will this put him on the same strategy with the rest of them? From lap 86, everyone should be able to make it on one more stop.

Depends on if the others stop more than once the rest of the way

Better than stupid gimmicks like a caution clock, debris cautions, the Chase, etc.

There's plenty of competition and strategy in this race and it's quite entertaining. Busch may be dominating now, but just remember that the final lap is what counts. With all the strategy going on the end of this race could be crazy.

It'll be fine...somebody will toss a hotdog wrapper with 15 laps to go...then we will have the "big one" and drivers will be cussing over the radios and then likely a fight or two...be patient Acs :D

Just a reminder about the old days. Watch the 85 Talladega race where Bill Elliott made up almost 2 full laps UNDER the green to win.

Came back from commercial to show in car shots for a few minutes and then back to commercial lol
Kyle Busch smoking the field for 5 minutes, commercials, rinse and repeat. NBC in 2016.

This right here, I will take a boring race over one filled with entertainment gimmicks

Lower downforce won't do much at this track since it's only 1 groove. A softer tire might do more than less downforce.

Lower downforce would allow the following car to stay close to the leading cars bumper through the corner so that the following car could get a tow on the straights and make the pass.
