Random NASCAR Stuff to talk about.....

I think I'll still look at my six pack of billy beer as having more value.

Tommy sure came out swinging, but not every S&P team is reinvesting the way he did. I like what nascar is doing with the purse money.

Gen-6 Car Tests At Darlington Raceway

The new Gen-6 race car made its first Darlington Raceway appearance during a Goodyear Tire Test today, in anticipation of the track’s Bojangles’ Southern 500 on May 11.

Today’s tire test drew several hundred fans to the track from as far as Florida, Georgia, Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia, to see the new Gen-6 car.

“We were running some really fast times today. I think you’ll see a good possibility of the qualifying record being broken here at Darlington in May,” said Carl Edwards, driver of the No. 99 Fastenal Ford Fusion. “I love this race track and being able to test out here today and see how well the new car handled is great for our team and Goodyear.”

I like ths,not just seein bow ties in front, but for other "driver fans" thell see what brand their pulling for.

Iv wanted NASCAR to go back to this for 15 years,I hate sticker car racing, thats for indy,F1,funny car, ect.

I remember my disappointment when I saw the first CoT race and couldn't figure who was driving what. Gen 6 is a decent step back toward brand recognition.

NASCAR enacts pit road rule change

9-15 Pit Procedures During Race
M. The fuel handler must be in control of the fuel can at all times when fuel is being added to the car. The fuel handler will not be permitted to perform any adjustments or other pit stop procedures while the fuel can coupler is engaged with the car-mounted adapter.

Translation: So long as the gas man is pouring gas into the car, he is prohibited from doing anything else during the pit stop (In past, the gas man has helped make adjustments or stuck wrenches in wedge-adjustment holes. This role expanded when catch-can position was eliminated).

Good for Brian. Now if he can just stop crying about how he would be where Brad is if not for Brad stealing that truck ride, he'll be all set.

Yeah, that's higher than he'll finish in the Cup standings...

If the team can keep it together, I wouldn't bet on that. They have momentum going into the season. Lets not forget he finished the season with 3 top 10's. The talent obviously isn't lacking.

Do not now and never will do facebook or twitter, RF takes up enough of my wasted energy thank you.

I think that if a fella had a lot of trivia knowledge that he wanted to use , that millionaire show might be a better place to use it .:D

It will be interesting to see if Carl and Brad can come to some sort of agreement over 2010. They were friends and one point, but they both seem to be wide apart on the subject of using any contact as an excuse for intentional wrecking.

Carl's menstrual cycle can give him an excuse to do anything he wants.

I can tell there is still bad blood from the comments they both make. Carl raced Brad real respectful for most of the chase, then Kez went on that Phoenix rant about driers with anger issues, etc. The next week at Homestead, Carl was doing a bit of blocking and running him down the track. Carl fans deny it, but he reacts on the track to what drivers say about him, like when Denny said he doesn't agree with either driver after Gateway. Carl hit him twice and wrecked him the next race.

Honestly, I lost respect for Carl after the way he handled what happened at Talladega. At first he said it was a racing deal, then things changed. NASCAR painted the drivers with the yellow line rule. It was the last lap and Brad did what I'd expect a racer to do, keep your foot in it and keep his line. Carl just should've accepted it and moved on. He put the block on and Brad did what he was forced to do by Carl and NASCAR. I'm a firm believer in everything goes on the last lap, so with that I didn't see a problem with the Gateway incident either. The Atlanta crash with those two though should've cost Carl track time and a lot of money.

the first time flip boy turned me off,was when he hit JR.'s car on JR.'s victory lap [in NATIONWIDE].

I'm just wondering how they get along as the year goes on. Carl has always intentionally wrecked for blood and gotten a free pass. Drivers get pissed and wreck each other, but very few do it with the pure violence Carl displays time and again.
