Random NASCAR Stuff to talk about.....

Three 22s to one 2 and 12, yep that's about right boy's at his wad'um up rate.

DPK, I don't know if you have been there or not but that place is huge. That is the final prep area before they load the cars for transporting. Everyone is really nice there also. There is no place to park trucks on the Nascar side so when I go there I have to park the hauler on the Indy car side which is clear on the other side of the building, and man that would be a long walk, but the security guard always comes around on his golf cart and gives me a ride to the Nascar side and then takes me back when I'm ready to leave. He is a drag racing fan, so I always give him a hat and t-shirt before I leave.

Just saw a small story on Harry Gant on speed. Does anyone know what he is doing now? Since he left racing you never hear anything about him. It's a shame he was such a good driver seemed like a gentleman on and off the track. Wish he was still involved in racing.

AJ finished 7th which is a respectable showing, especially for a non regular.

Not only did AJ race, but he led a lot of laps and had himself in a good position to win if his belts hadn't come loose and forced him to pit.
Wondered what happened to him, thanks.

Yeah, that was a real 'Racing Gods' moment. No doubt he was headed for a top 3 finish. He moved that thing from 21st to the lead in two pit cycles, and consistently put it back up front after subsequent pit stops. The belt problem just threw him off-cycle.

Damn good race, regardless of the series. Very entertaining.

AJ did great in the 500 today, shame he had trouble with his belts.

Today's 500 was the best I've seen in a looooong time, hopefully the Indy series continues to improve.

I am amazed at the AJ love on this page ( and the Kurt love on the other pages ) , last year's insults are a distant memory . Oh how we hated those guys , eh ?

I don't have to look..kick him out, ruining Nascar, Nascar should do this.. banned for life, some probably thought the death penalty would do, it is great isn't it.:)

Who's 'we', you and the mouse in your pocket?

Unlike others caught in drug screenings by various sports, AJ successfully met the requirements necessary to re-enter his field and has stayed clean to date. My opinion of him may change should he have future trouble, but so far, so good.

Yep, it will be 21 years for me tomorrow without a drink or a pill, If I can do it, he can.

Anyone notice during the Indy race that the lead car was able to be passed? Did Indy car figure something out that NASCAR could take advantage of? Or is this just something that won't be able to carry over to NASCAR?

Not an Indy fan and didn't see that race but do they still use the video game themed button for 'push to pass'? I know I used to use a form of that in Mario Kart. I think it was when I would run over a green turtle I would gain a boost in speed. Maybe NASCAR could adopt some sort of 'green turtle' or 'push to pass' method so that we can make our races more exciting? ;)

I dare you to suggest that to the fan council..l

From WBTV.com:

ROWAN COUNTY, NC (WBTV) -
Rowan County Sheriff's deputies are watching NASCAR driver Mike Harmon closely, after recovering two cars and five trucks from his two garages Tuesday afternoon. Deputies say Harmon stole the cars from racer Jennifer Jo Cobb at the end of last year.

The vehicles were seized from Harmon's shop in Mooresville, and from a storage facility in Catawba County, officials told WBTV.

Would the remains of a green turtle on the track, after it's been run over, warrant a debris caution ? :D

That's a good point. That's what makes this forum such a great tool. We can throw around perfectly good ideas only to have someone point out the potential downfall. Thanks for pointing that out. I will have to investigate other potential NASCAR fixes.

Why would anyone steal seven vehicles that weren't drivable due to extensive front end damage?

Where would NASCAR get all those green turtles to put on the track? And if they did that wouldn't they have to throw a caution to clean the track?
