Random NASCAR Stuff to talk about.....

I knew it would suck just based on the previews. The EA games weren't great either but maybe they should try and get them to make another.
No offense but I don't think that EA ever produced a good NASCAR game. It's been said a thousand times on here that NR2003 was/is by far the best NASCAR game/sim produced. Maybe that the answer..... NR2003 was a sim and the rest are just games. On second thought maybe EA was good at producing a good NASCAR game. A NASCAR sim is what I want.

They weren't "good" but they sure looked a lot better than the most recent one.

That latest one, NASCAR The Game 2011, was created by a company called Eutechnyx. They had absolutely no clue what NASCAR even was when they started that game. I think that if you want to have a company create a good NASCAR game, don't start in the UK! No offense to any of you across the pond. Are there no software developers in the US?

Link.

11 mins into the Nationwide practice coverage and the first mention of Danica.:eek:I was starting to wonder if she was in this race but then realized DW wasn't doing any of the coverage.

Jeffrey Earnhardt will make his Bristol Motor Speedway debut in two weeks when the half-mile track hosts the NASCAR Nationwide Series.
The fourth-generation driver will pilot the Rick Ware Racing Ford Mustang at the site of his grandfather Dale Earnhardt’s first Sprint Cup victory in 1979. It will also be the first time an Earnhardt drives a Ford since 1983 when Dale Earnhardt drove the No. 15 Ford for Bud Moore.

Oh dear.

Why ? It didn't bother senior?
The name 'Earnhardt' alone is enough to bother most people. Even though Earnhardt ran Fords for a couple years a long, long time ago..... How many people when they think of the name Earnhard think Ford? I'd bet not too many.

According to SportsBusiness Journal, HMS is close to a 9-race primary deal w/Chinese solar panel company Trina Solar for Kasey Kahne.

Note to self..... DO NOT PICK KASEY KAHNE AS MY FANTASY PICK FOR HIS SOLAR POWERED SPONSORED RACES! Somehow solar power and speed don't seem to go with each other. :D

Rough life to be a NASCAR superstar. Model wife, money to burn and VIP access to everything.

Dave Blaney will attempt to make his 400th career Cup start Sunday. He's 49th on the all-time start list.

49th? Really? Who would have guessed that?

Another one of everyone's favorite whipping boys.....

On the advice of Joe Gibbs, Logano said he began talking to a sports psychologist last year. He's worked with same one as Hamlin.

Joey Logano says that talking with sports psychologist Bob Rotella has helped him.

If it works as good as it did for Hamlin then have at it!

Sprint Cup champion #14-Tony Stewart might try to add another racing series to his already full calendar this summer. Stewart, who was at Texas Motor Speedway Tuesday as part of the track's media days, said he didn't think he would run in the Nationwide Series at Indianapolis this July. The Sprint Cup weekend at Indy also features a July 27 race in the Grand-Am Road Racing Series. That is something that might suit Stewart. "If I do anything, I'd like to run the Grand Am race to be honest," Stewart said. "We might be able to try and put something together for that hopefully." Stewart said he didn't want to deny a Nationwide spot to a driver who was trying to live out a dream of running at the storied venue.(Fox Sports)(3-7-2012)

I'd love to see Tony run GARRS. Give him a good car and let him show them what he can do.

NASCAR drivers #78-Regan Smith and #27-Paul Menard, along with Smith's wife Megan and a friend of the Smiths, escaped injuries in a Colorado road accident today (Wednesday, approximately 8:45 a.m. MT). The foursome was on the way to a nearby ski slope. Smith lost control of his Silverado truck after hitting a patch of ice near his mountain home in Evergreen, outside of Denver. The truck slid off the road and crashed into a collection of trees. Smith and Menard will compete in Sunday's Kobalt Tools 400 Sprint Cup Series race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. I'm glad everyone was ok.
