Notes:

Teams in all three NASCAR series will run the same tire codes at Dover this week, though the Sprint Cup and Nationwide tires will be branded "Goodyear Eagle," while the Camping World Truck tires will be branded "Goodyear Wrangler"

. . . this is the first time these tire codes will be run at Dover, though teams in all three series ran this right-side code (D-4440) at Kentucky in 2011

. . . compared to what was run at Dover last year, this left-side (D-4556) features a construction change to give teams more grip while bringing into line with what is run at other speedways . . . this right-side features a compound change to help control the track rubbering process

. . . this tire set-up came out of a Goodyear test at Dover on April 17-18

. . . teams/drivers participating in that test were the No. 9 Richard Petty Motorsports Ford with Marcos Ambrose, No. 22 Penske Racing Dodge with A.J. Allmendinger, No. 29 Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet with Kevin Harvick, No. 39 Stewart-Haas Racing Chevrolet with Ryan Newman, No. 51 Phoenix Racing Chevrolet with Kurt Busch and No. 56 Michael Waltrip Racing Toyota with Martin Truex Jr.

. . . Dover is unique among NASCAR ovals one mile or less in length, in that inner liners are required on all four tire positions

. . . air pressure in those inner liners should be 12-25 psi greater than that of the outer tire.

Double J's ride this weekend.....

A virtual lap around Dover w/Jeff Gordon. Maybe he should be taking some real laps? I'm just saying.

The only thing that they left out of this video is all of his bad luck during the 2012 season. I was seriously waiting for the 'DuPont Monster Bridge' to fall on his car as he drove underneath or maybe the earth to open up beneath him going into turn 3.

You would think that Jimmie would have learned to stay away from the Golfcarts, or is he checking out retirement homes already?
You're right but it was a charity golf outing yesterday. I think they made him ride in rather than on top of the cart.

MattKenseth says he's skipping Eldora/Smoke race Wednesday because of Pocono testing. 'we'll be at pocono six days it looks like'

Kind of an interesting stat. I saw in another thread that someone mentioned about podium finishes being recognized in NASCAR. Where would we stand thus far in 2012? Results may be surprising.

1 Greg Biffle 4
2 Kyle Busch 4
3 Dale Earnhardt, Jr. 4
4 Denny Hamlin 4
5 Jimmie Johnson 4
6 Tony Stewart 4
7 Matt Kenseth 3
8 Brad Keselowski 2
9 Martin Truex, Jr. 2
10 A.J. Allmendinger 1
11 Kevin Harvick 1
12 Kasey Kahne 1
13 Mark Martin 1
14 Ryan Newman 1

That's it. 14 different drivers. I thought there would be more & I didn't think that it would be so even @ the top of the heap.

I like NASCAR's style of recognizing the top 2 to 5 finishers on pit road. It doesn't distract so much from the race winner.

DIRECTV Hotpass lineup for Dover:

795 Denny Hamlin
796 Kevin Harvick
797 Jimmie Johnson
798 Dale Earnhardt Jr

I watched the race in Darlington on hotpass (JJ's channel) in my step uncle's home theater... best race experience I've had watching on a TV. Still not as good as seeing a race in person, though.

Yeah, Hotpass and Trackpass are the next best thing to going to a race.

I tried to use trackpass during a free trial for Daytona... The window is too big for my 15" screen, and there isn't a scroll bar. :(

Did you try changing your screen resolution?

I don't know if it'll work or not as I've never wasted my money on a race that I can see for free but the freebie trial would be the place to try it, I suppose :)
