Notes:
Teams in all three NASCAR series will run the same tire codes at Dover this week, though the Sprint Cup and Nationwide tires will be branded "Goodyear Eagle," while the Camping World Truck tires will be branded "Goodyear Wrangler"
. . . this is the first time these tire codes will be run at Dover, though teams in all three series ran this right-side code (D-4440) at Kentucky in 2011
. . . compared to what was run at Dover last year, this left-side (D-4556) features a construction change to give teams more grip while bringing into line with what is run at other speedways . . . this right-side features a compound change to help control the track rubbering process
. . . this tire set-up came out of a Goodyear test at Dover on April 17-18
. . . teams/drivers participating in that test were the No. 9 Richard Petty Motorsports Ford with Marcos Ambrose, No. 22 Penske Racing Dodge with A.J. Allmendinger, No. 29 Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet with Kevin Harvick, No. 39 Stewart-Haas Racing Chevrolet with Ryan Newman, No. 51 Phoenix Racing Chevrolet with Kurt Busch and No. 56 Michael Waltrip Racing Toyota with Martin Truex Jr.
. . . Dover is unique among NASCAR ovals one mile or less in length, in that inner liners are required on all four tire positions
. . . air pressure in those inner liners should be 12-25 psi greater than that of the outer tire.
