No problem. Just posting some pics I see. I figure there could be a couple of people out there that like them. I know KB has fans somewhere. Heck, they're lined up @ his window.

Ohhhhh, ahhhhh!

Fireworks extravaganza to follow Coke Zero 400: Fireworks By Santore is adding a new twist to the largest fireworks show in the Southeast, which takes place immediately following the conclusion of the 54th annual Coke Zero 400 Powered By Coca-Cola NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race on Saturday night, July 7. During the 15-minute show that will illuminate the sky above Daytona International Speedway, Fireworks By Santore will use specially developed shells to produce the letters "U S A" high above the speedway. The show will be shot from 16 different locations spread across the infield along the Superstretch. The finale will last for approximately one minute, 30 seconds and will have over 2,000 individual pieces.

That's always a great show . I've lived in Daytona for quite a few years and i've see it from outside the track as well as inside . I try never to miss it.

TNT will be setting off fireworks in the shape of Colonel Sanders, nothing says independence like KFC.

Would a fireworks display cause you to by a ticket to a Nascar race ?

No, I go to the Daytona 500 and Firecracker 400 at Daytona every year along with most of the other events at the Speedway. They always have a really good fireworks display after the July race, I'll take my camera and try to get some pics although I don't know how well fireworks will show up?

Check your camera for a fireworks setting. Mine works real well.

I just carry a small digital pocket camera Sony Cyber-Shot W690 it's compact and easy to carry cheap enough that if I loose it it's not a biggy and no hassle getting thru security. Unfourtunatly the auto focus is slow reacting and the shutter speed is not adjustable :( also it's one of the those digital camera's that you push the button to take a pic and it waits till it wants to to take the pic.

Cameras are banned @ Daytona? That's the first I've ever heard that. Heck, I've never tried to hide my camera going into a race and I've never had a problem.

The cyber-shot sucks, but it is cheap enough to lose without caring too much. I got tired of deleting crappy pics on my Sony whatever-it-was and moved to the highly expensive Fuji EXR line. In full auto mode, it grabs pics out of it's memory pipeline so there is zero 'shutter' lag. My F550 has 15X optical zoom, shoots in RAW and can split the 16 Mb chip for excellent high dynamic range and low light shooting. It's slightly larger than a pack of cigs, but at $290, it would hurt to lose or break it. But you can't beat the image quality for a compact, no matter what the conditions are.

This was at 11x zoom. No lag, and a decent shot for a compact shooting into the daytime sky.

Damn, you sure know a lot about cameras! lol
Not as much as you might think. That fuse thing got right by me. It should have been a dead giveaway. I must be slipping. Getting old will do that to ya. At least my faculties are good enough with aerodynamics so that I can contribute on this board towards the betterment of NASCAR.
