I was just looking at The Numbers for the Coke Zero 400 on Jayski and noticed this:
10 - number of jet dryers available for track drying

You think they made Montoya replace the one he trashed?

I got a feeling Tide is going to be the Mac & Cheese/Mashed Potatoes of this weeks race.

Dillon willing to run #3 in Sprint Cup: Austin Dillon said Thursday he'd be honored to drive the late Dale Earnhardt's iconic #3 in the Sprint Cup Series. Dillon is the grandson of Richard Childress, who owns the rights to the number and uses it for Dillon in the Nationwide Series. Dale Earnhardt Jr. has also used the number before in the Nationwide Series, but the #3 has not been in a Cup race since Earnhardt's 2001 death. "I'd be excited to run it," Dillon said at Daytona International Speedway. "I still would love the approval of my grandfather and the guys. Seeing more fans each and every week come up to him is the best way to do it - the more people coming to him wanting to see it." Dillon picked up his first career Nationwide victory last week at Kentucky, and Childress said after the win he'd be open to moving the number up with his grandson. But he'd want the number to have a different style from how Earnhardt had it designed, and he'll only ever let an Earnhardt or a Dillon use the number. Ty Dillon currently uses the number in the Truck Series.(ESPN.com/Associated Press)(7-6-2012)

I like it and as a long, long time Earnhardt fan I'd like to see him run the same exact stylized '3'. I'd love to see that number back out on the track just as it was each and every Sunday.

And I agree with RC, the style can't be the same, but the 3 back on the track would be nice.
You'd really have a tough time with that? Heck, I really look at it as more of a tribute to him than anything else. I'm watching it in the Truck and Nationwide competition and enjoy that a lot. Every time I see that number on the track it reminds me of watching him take laps and I think that's cool. :)

True enough, but I feel like the little brat should have to choose between the Dale 3 or the Petty hat. :D

Hey, he's got the best of both. Don't you think? Both iconic figures. Just look to your left. That's why my little pic was chosen in the first place. You don't have to see a face to know what that figure is, just like you don't have to see a face when you see the '3'. You just know.

This whole Dillon thing is a dangerous slippery slope. If he uses the Dale 3, and wears the Petty hat, what happens when he has a son and names him Austin?

or Austin Jr. but..... you have a valid point.

Well, yeah. The other end of that is watching Sr drive the 3 and walking around in a Petty hat. Can you imagine the press saying "Sr, Kurt was really banging on that 3 car.....". I would puke.

Good morning Danica.

lol. That's mean. No wonder bruton want's yellows.
I hear ya. This past spring after 219 laps of caution free racing the yellow finally came out. I sat there for a minute or two debating whether or not I should go to the concession stand to get a beer. By the time I got up everyone else in the entire facility already had the same idea and they were already waiting in line ahead of me and I had to line up behind them. Funny thing is, by the time I got my beer and got back to my seat, I hadn't missed a green flag lap. Man, I liked that high groove. ;)

I hope Brutons changes will give everyone something to cheer about. I don't usually enjoy wrecking, but the bump and run is great when done properly. I would love to see it make a come back.

I really don't see there being much of a difference at all. I'll tell you what though. Thursday morning before the race I am taking some laps around the track as part of the Track Laps for Kids charity. I'll try running that third groove to see how it feels and get back to you.

I was probably in line behind you. :D

You lucky dog. What kind of car will you be driving? Whatever it is, some in car shots would be nice. Hey, make a video and send it to JJ like he did for us. :D

Damn you get some good pictures, always surprising me and thats not easy to do.
Not hard, they're all over the net. Most from Twitter. While most of my pics that I post are Jr. centric I try to give equal time. I just thought some may enjoy although others really have a bug up their a$$ about this thread. I mainly created the thread to post random pics, statements, thoughts about NASCAR. Things they maybe aren't thread worthy on their own. Maybe some would create a topic of discussion even if does deviate from the original post? Sorry, I guess that was kind-of a dig at the Random NASCAR Stuff to talk about dislikers. ;)

I will be driving my street legal 2008 GMC 2500HD Quad-cab pickemup truck. I am towing my 5er down there and can't afford to drive a second vehicle just for a few laps. We did the drive in the spring with the truck and it was a blast. If you or anyone else goes, pay the now $35. It is worth every penny.

I wish I could make it to a race. With a sick Mom, and Attorney, marketing and college bills, I can't even afford a free side of mac and cheese.

I hate to hear that but things will turnaround. And when they do, and we're at the same track at the same time, stop by and have a dinner and some adult beverages with us. We always have room for more and plenty more than we could ever eat.

I wanted to in the spring but we did not get there until Saturday morning. It would have been cool in my 2013 ram 2500 HD listening to the diesel echo off of the walls.

They do it Thursday night before the spring race and Thursday morning before the fall event. I think the night time one is better but the morning one is probably safer, (less alcohol).
