Random NASCAR Stuff to talk about.....

I'm thinkin that he doesn't let her take candy offered by old men , too bad .

Hamlin said you have to document everything you take. Probably so Aegis can see dates you started taking a supplement and then track any rise in levels associated with the supplement.

Danica Patrick says she got a bruise on her arm from Daytona crash. Said NASCAR came to shop to look at car.

For all the bad mouthing NASCAR recieves from many both inside and outside the sport and even it's own "Fans" I feel some one needs to step up and say " Good Job NASCAR!!! "
Not so many years ago a crash similar to what Danica was involved in at Daytona could have caused major injuries or been career ending. After many improvements in the Race Cars themselves the Tracks, The Safety Personel, Equipment and Training, BUTT most of all the ATTITUDE towards Safety we now have a series I can say that I'm proud of.

Good Job NASCAR!

Can anyone imagine a decade or more ago anyone little on the series careing if a driver had a bruise? Or bothering to go look at the car involved in the accident?

Where's Carl? Probably one of the biggest surprises IMO this year. He may not even make the Chase.

He did exactly what I predicted last year. He'll start off being real aggressive, mess up, and go back to laying low. He's starting to get agressive again ( went 3 wide with old tires on the last restart at Kansas), which was a dumb move that could have turned out badly if Brad and Matt didn't give him all that room.

IMO, Carl will start wrecking on a regular basis and really piss off a few drivers. His only impact this season may be deciding who WON'T win the championship, including Matt Kenseth.

I think Carl , Brad , Kyle , Harvick ,etc are really suffering from not racing enough in Nationwide.

Yeah, Brad's hurting bad. He's having his best season ever.

IMO, Brad is more like JJ, Matt and Jeff. They benefit from driving just one spec.

Logano's quotes on future: from a Toyota Notes & Quotes Transcript:
Q) Do you feel more pressure to make the Chase or from the uncertainty of your future?
Logano: "I think you feel pressure from both ends. You want to be able to focus 100 percent on what you're doing -- right now, trying to make the Chase. During the week, we're trying to figure out what my future is going to be and I'm trying to prepare myself for the weekend and then when we get here, I put all that stuff in the back of my mind and then focus 100 percent on what I have going on this weekend in trying to win a race. I say it all the time -- winning races will make all the other stuff come along a lot quicker. We're getting there slowly but surely."
Q) Do you feel like you control your destiny more to make the Chase or determine your future?Logano: "I don't know. Obviously, racing itself on one side of it out there on the race track, you can only control so much of your destiny out there, but you can control it quite a bit. If you can control it on the racing side, you can control it on the other side too. As long as I keep doing what we've been doing on the race track with all the top-10s we've got and top-fives and with that win -- being near that Chase spot makes you want it a little bit more. We have to keep working on that."
Q) Have you made contact with Penske Racing for next season?
Logano: "Obviously, right now we look at all our options out there in trying to do whatever we can do to have the best opportunity for my future. That's talking to as many people as we can and seeing what's available."(Toyota Notes & Quotes)(7-13-2012)

  • Biffle hits crash cart: Greg Biffle suffered damaged to his #16 Ford Friday afternoon although he was going less than 1 mph and was 50 yards away from the New Hampshire Motor Speedway track. Biffle backed into a generator cart as he left his garage stall for the afternoon practice session. "I'm glad I was backing up slow," Biffle said after the left-rear corner of his bumper was dented. "A lot of times we're in a hurry and you want to try to get out there and go, but I was backing up slow and turning." The cart belonged to #48-Jimmie Johnson's team. "I don't want to blame the guy with the cart, but you hear a car start up, you see it move out of the garage slow and turning, at what point do you keep walking with the generator cart?" Biffle's team made quick repairs. He went on to qualify 11th for Sunday's race.(Florida Times Union)(7-14-2012)

I think Logano's comments pretty much confirm that he's out at JGR if he doesn't find a sponsor. Matt Kenseth-driver of the Home Depot Toyota.

Making and running well in The Chase could be the determining factor in Joeys future at JGR or in NASCAR period. It's close right now and could go either way.
