Random NASCAR Stuff to talk about.....

I wonder why they induct people while they’re still playing the game?

Biscuit and gravy, corned-beef hash, two eggs sunny side up, Canadian bacon, Belgian waffle, fruit plate, shot of fresh squeezed orange juice, coffee coffee coffee

NASCAR on the tube

State College, PA today.....

As far as the thread goes..... That's pretty cool that it's lasted the test of time. I think that we also lost a good portion of it a while back when the server crashed. I could certainly be wrong on that though as I often am.

I wouldn't mind if NASCAR adopted a points format similar to the one Indycar uses... Where there's a much greater emphasis on wins and top 5s than top 10s... It's also a full season championship... In the last few years, the Indycar Series has had championship battles come down to the final race, every year.. It's also much less confusing for casual fans..

^ That ship has sailed, Nascar never backs down from a bad decision. They just make another bad decision so you will forget the one before it.

Yep

Honestly, I think I've learned something about NASCAR management... their unparalleled hubris. They change things that are perfectly fine without any understanding of the consequences the changes could cause.. and when things go predictably go awry because of their unnecessary decisions, they blame something else, and refuse to fix their mistakes.

Yet they continue to blunder ahead thinking they knew what the fanbase wanted the entire time... IMSA, WEC, F1, and Indycar on the other hand, really seem to know what they're about, they at least understand their audience..

I'll bet those teams are worse off than Nascar with fan attendance. Nascar has to hit bottom before they will change their thinking.
The proof is that 2019 was one of the worse years of racing in the last 15 yrs. IMO

Actually Formula 1 is comparable in terms of attendance

Perhaps the biggest reason why I'm so anti playoff is because of all the antics it has caused.

Whether it's the time Keselowski took out Gordon at Texas, the Logano-Kenseth feud, Harvick intentionally wrecking half the ****** field at Talladega, Austin Dillion dumping Almirola at Daytona, Chris Buescher qualifying when he had no business being there, and Stenhouse driving like a jackass at Daytona and Talladega.

NASCAR's infatuation with "Game 7 moments" is going to get somebody hurt or killed

Those other series aren't trying to rebuilt to a pop culture peak. It's a peak NASCAR never fully understood the causes of, making the task of re-achieving it that much harder. Management has been mostly unable to accept that most of those 'fans' were just following the latest trend, and that others were fans of particular drivers now gone. Either way, they weren't fans of the sport itself in the first place, so they can't be lured back.

IndyCar is the only comparable series, but it's mission for the last decade has been to drag itself out of its deathbed. NASCAR's mostly healthy, it wants to get back to that superstar body it had briefly. Big difference.

Yeah, nobody drove like that before the Chase was implemented.

IndyCar lost me when they decided ovals aren't important.

Meh I’d rather NASCAR do a 35 race chase, and a Championship 4.

I know most don’t like it, but you can’t compare it to Indy and F1 because the schedule is so much longer. Also stage points mess stuff up because in a title you could see massive swings.

NASCAR is in a tough spot since they expanded to 36 dates I think. It’s just too many races considering

NASCAR really should consolidate the schedule a bit, I'd say 30 races, with only a small handful of tracks having a 2nd date
