With how expensive Daytona 500 tickets are, I'm disappointed that the 400 isn't on the 4th of July anymore.. hopefully it goes back eventually & the Brickyard turns into a night race at a different time.

Nascar is a private company now, doesn't have to answer to any stockholders and the France family can do pretty much whatever they want to do.

I want to watch a race without it turning into a stupid MAGA rally or a helping of politics
I get that I'm in the minority when it comes to political beliefs of race fans, but I wish we could keep politics out of the sport. I want racing to be my escape.

So, I decided next time I go to a race, I want to listen to a scanner. And instead of renting one every time I'm at the track, I figure it makes more sense to just buy one. After about 5 minutes of researching scanners and 5 more minutes browsing ebay, I ended up with this.....

Supposedly, it only requires two AA batteries? Although it comes with an AC adapter

With Newman most likely not racing for at least a few weeks, who is the top choice to replace him until he returns? Menard? Earnhardt Jr? Kenseth? Some young gun?
