Random NASCAR Stuff to talk about.....

If you are really bored, Flo showed a kart race called the Better Half Dash consisting of NASCAR driver wives at TrackHouse's karting facility. I am literally just putting this on now and Julia Piquet (I guess she counts?) is starting on pole.

I wonder how good CC notes are these days with the constant changes being made by Nascar.

I would be interested to see how close some of this stuff is to a modern car.

Pre coil-bind setup. Few years later the RR was by far the stiffest spring in the car. Since they run on bumpstops now the springs are fairly irrelevant. So considering all the changes to the chassis for the Next Gen, I'd say none of that still applies.

For anyone that doesn't know, right click the picture/diagram, select "open link in new tab". When you open the tab can click on picture to expand it. Makes it so you can read it.

Should add I love that type of stuff. Love to see the current car illustration.

We went and visited a few shops in the area today and I guess its one of those deals of don't meet your heros. I guess I've had the privilege of seeing some awesome manufacturing facilities and some places like JRM it was like "really that's it?"

I know some of these shops use some cool laser measurements, but I use an ATS600 frequently at work, which is superior than what most teams are using.

What do you know about the Stevie Reeves decision to stop spotting for Bell @Spotter22 ?
I really don't want to get in to specifics, I know Stevie and I really feel bad for him. It was basically a force out, you don't tell someone you are replacing them at the end of the year and not expect them to react. I expect him to move on to another team or take a break till 2026

They are a winning organization but I don't like the way JGR operates.

TRD has some very high standards for their people. I remember them talking the diet and fitness program they had Harrison on was draining him. Also heard that when Chase signed the first thing they told him he'd be on a program as well.

Any idea how drivers get chosen for tire tests. Like its never the 9 from Hendrick it seems.

Well, when testing tires, you want to see how they'll respond to suboptimal conditions, and the 9 never takes risks. ~grins~
