I'm from central Ohio
Who in the hell thought it would be a good idea to unpin this thread? anybody want to speak up?
Changing subject. I dare ya to listen to this with a straight face
Good read but unless my memory is faulty- and yes that possibility exists- Daytona being the season opener has only existed since around we 1980. I'm pretty sure Riverside used to be the opener, I know I was a kid when we used to go there but I do remember it wasn't long after Christmas LOL!not sure how I feel about this.....

Gluck: 10 NASCAR traditions that should be celebrated
The words "NASCAR" and "tradition" don't always get along very well these days.www.usatoday.com
Id think the polish victory lap should be no 1.
good read.
1982 was the first year Daytona was the first race. It had previously been the first in the calendar year in a few seasons when the season started in NovemberGood read but unless my memory is faulty- and yes that possibility exists- Daytona being the season opener has only existed since around we 1980. Pretty sure personalized driver intros at Bristol don't go back more than 10 or 15 years.Good read but unless my memory is faulty- and yes that possibility exists- Daytona being the season opener has only existed since around we 1980. I hope that's 235 miles. If it's kilos, this is gonna be a really short race.

Survey says: Results from midseason NASCAR Cup Series Driver Survey
Nineteen Cup Series drivers answered our six questions, ranging from "Who is the greatest NASCAR driver of all time?" to "Who is your pick to win the 2020 Cup Series Championship?"m.nascar.com
19 drivers were asked a series of six questions. The one that stands out the most to me is the greatest of all time question.
How in the world did Kyle Busch receive 11% of the votes But Jeff Gordon received none? Can someone explain that to me?

yeah it is what it is. I believe Penske overall has the best team statistically![]()

Sponsorship money.Question: I often see mention of drivers "buying rides" in the Silly Season threads, how exactly does that work?
Are they just bringing enough sponsorship money to the table that it makes it worth it for the race teams? Or are they literally paying race teams out of their pocket to race their cars?
Although sometimes that sponsor is owned by the family of the driver, or otherwise has personal connections. That doesn't necessarily mean the driver wouldn't be able to land another sponsor.Sponsorship money.
One of the more notable in recent times. Couldn't hold a basket much less a steering wheel. The Chicken manAlthough sometimes that sponsor is owned by the family of the driver, or otherwise has personal connections. That doesn't necessarily mean the driver wouldn't be able to land another sponsor.
Let the record show that I was NOT the one to play the JWT card (this time). One of the more notable in recent times. Couldn't hold a basket much less a steering wheel. The Chicken man

You’re just chicken.Let the record show that I was NOT the one to play the JWT card (this time).
I see what you did there. You’re just chicken.
Presently, there is no good time to go to Florida.Still think NASCAR moving the summer Daytona race to August was extremely boneheaded
and you guys missed the chicken in a basket crack.I see what you did there.
Under non-COVID circumstances, I'd agree, but probably not for same reasons. I suspect your objections are either weather or tradition. I dislike having a crapshoot pack race as the cutoff.Still think NASCAR moving the summer Daytona race to August was extremely boneheaded
Didn't miss it; didn't want it. Zaxby's chicken is too salty for me, and I dislike 'Texas' toast and crinkle-cut fries. The fountain drinks aren't bad.and you guys missed the chicken in a basket crack.
