Mr. H is no dummy and he's not prone to hyperbole. So I'm glad to see his enthusiasm for the direction of the sport. And he's got actual skin in the game. That counts for a lot, IMO.

Yep. I think better days are ahead. The racing itself is fine. I hope we see a rebound in the numbers this year.

I think the attendance numbers are decreasing at a slower pace so that is good news. I think more fans would like to attend races but Nascar has a lot of fans on fixed incomes and of an age where physical problems present challenges.
The guy that heads/owns IMSA a series that has figured out how to race multiple brands and engines office is across the hall from Nascar another series he is head of. eh probably going to be some big changes, Hendrick a multi brand dealer sure seems positive about it.NASCAR could use a new manufacture and schedule changes badly, aside from getting rid of playoffs thats their best bet to improve.

I wouldn't go that far with forbidden unless you are talking about start up cost for anybody wanting to participate as in cost prohibitive. Seems to me they would have to figure a way to reduce that

Maybe and its a big maybe, Penske could go back to Dodge after his contract is up with Ford but they would have to give him a great contract.
And Ed Bennett (CEO) and Scott Atherton (President). Jim seems to get all the credit for IMSA around here - which is fine because he's probably the most recognizable name, but Ed and Scott should get the recognition they deserve as well for the more hands-on management of the series.That apparently is Jim France's problem.
