See any good movies lately?

Couple of different takes on the Christmas theme; Dear Santa with Jack Black and Red One with Dwayne Johnson. Both entertaining and not sure where the story is going to take you but fun and quirky.

Man of Fire (2004)
Denzel Washington

I watch this movie about once a year, and I probably will for the rest of my life.

Great Movie and a great story line. I have watch it quite a few times. Of course I will admit, Denzel is one of my all time favorite actors.

Just went and saw Heart Eyes. As a dude who’s gonna be single forever, I appreciate these producers giving me some good horror movies to take myself on a date to go see. 😉

Found in the $1 bin here … The Parent Trap (1997) is wildly underrated as a movie.

Incredible editing and cinematography, and the pacing is perfect. Might be the best “family” genre movie ever.

I don’t know if I’ve ever seen it. My older “family” genre movies usually consisted of animals. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t on the verge of crying at the end of Shiloh and especially Homeward Bound.

The scariest part of scary movies is when the bad guy spots an animal. In the movie “Thanksgiving”, the bad guy murdered someone, but as he was getting ready to leave, the cat meowed, so the bad guy stopped and turned around. I was like “You better not hurt that cat!” Instead, he poured the cat a bowl of food, gave it a pet on the head and went on his way.🙂

Heart Eyes blu ray was released today. I was gonna buy it, but it’s $28! No thanks. Is that really the cost of new releases these days? I could maybe understand if it was 4k, but it’s not.

Just wait a while, it'll be a $5 DVD before long.

4K Blu Ray usually runs $28-$35.

Blu Ray usually about $20.

Digital, I think it’s one price.

I only have an HDTV and still have to pay full price for content. I’ve been buying more Blu Rays lately.

Watched Captain America: Brave New World, it was OK. Just seemed off to me. Just didn't seem as good as the other ones.

I am watching the Equalizer now (have watched it a few times prior).

Denzel Washington walking into the room full of gangsters with $9800 to try and buy the girls freedom back is great stuff.
He can play both the badass and the genuine sincere type. He might be my favorite actor.

Denzel's character can go from patient to dam it in short order. He does not do revenge, he does a reckoning.

Absolutely ! Equalizer 1 and 2 are excellent . 3 was ok and I liked the story
but the blood n guts went a little too far for my taste.

I might have to go see James Gunn's Superman this weekend.

Even the bad reviews say it's an entertaining movie.

And James Gunn uses the famous John WIlliams motif in the soundtrack. All is right in the world.

Detachment.(2011). Foul language, shocking explicit nudity, and then some negatives. <wink> It's all too real and pretty sad that it's all too real. 15 years later. Has an all too brief moment of joy. Just the one tho.

Great movie IMO.

For the DC fans ... James Gunn is ****** around and might make a slam dunk hire.

There's been chatter for weeks about DC eyeing Rachel Pizzolato (6'1") as Wonder Woman.

With the subject of high profile kidnapping so prominent in the news in the past few weeks (Nancy Guffrie) here is a recommendation for a great movie (directed by Ron Howard, one of the best directors around today) on the subject.

Here is a really good thriller movie about ransom and kidnapping. It is called "Ransom" and stars Mel Gibson and Gary Sinese. It is directed by Ron Howard.

It is about a airline executive whose son is kidnapped and the kidnappers demand $2 million in ransom. Somehow he finds out that the kidnappers plan to kill the kid once they get the money so he decides to get the kid back on his own and use the $ 2 mil as a bounty to hunt down the kidnappers.

It's a really good movie. I have seen it once and am in the process of watching it a second time. It's easy to find online and on DVD/BR.
