Martin fits the bass pro character, kyle not so much in my visionAnd they take Truex's sponsors and move them to KDB's sponsor less car. Hurts my eyes to see ol Kyle with a Bass Pro Shop fishing pole in his hands lol.
Kyle at Bass Pro is like Kasey Kahne with Budweiser something is offMartin fits the bass pro character, kyle not so much in my vision
Pampers might fit Kyle better.Martin fits the bass pro character, kyle not so much in my vision
Nah. He's definitely a Huggies guy.Pampers might fit Kyle better.
Honestly I'm not sure there's a new manufacturer coming. But IF one does, I understand Roush's history with Ford but regardless Brad is the guy I could see taking that leap to try to grow RFK.Kyle and Martin leave JGR and drive for BAM Racing with Dodge.
If Gragson can pull it off...Martin fits the bass pro character, kyle not so much in my vision
You really think they'd give up roush-yates engines?Honestly I'm not sure there's a new manufacturer coming. But IF one does, I understand Roush's history with Ford but regardless Brad is the guy I could see taking that leap to try to grow RFK.
I could see him doing it, just not in a ToyotaIf Gragson can pull it off...
Purely anecdotal evidence, but a vast majority of KyBu gear I see at the track is younger fans (kids) with M&M's gear. The rest are, by and large, trolls amd frontrunners who pull for him because he wins a lot and it pisses off fans of other drivers, especially Elliott and the like. Again, PURELY ANECDOTAL on my part. I have no evidence whatsoever other than my (admittedly biased) observations. Was listening to one of the shows on Sirius and they brought up a good point. Do you think Kyle has as many fans and sells as much merchandise if he's not in the M&M's car? I think the reality is that a pay cut is coming no matter who he's driving for next season.

Byron won't be a darling of the silly season thread. Signs for three big ones.
Super interesting article on this development:
Aparently the well paid bunch at the TRD marketing department have nothing. Save you fingers convincing me this is a wonderful thing to have to go out of in house trying to find sponsorship. lol. What's wrong with hiring a marketing agency to help out?
Geshickter literally has a PHD in the marketing field, so why not get a nudge from his brain-trust? Might be other pieces to the puzzle as well, but I do not know.
Toyota Racing Development marketing or Joe Gibbs Racing marketing team? It's two different things here, Toyota markets their brand or B2B brands for to cover races. JGR is losing a long-time sponsor and needs the additional push to find something to replace Mars. Massive uphill battle, but JGR will find something.Aparently the well paid bunch at the TRD marketing department have nothing. Kyle will not be cheap to keep on either, so add in his salary plus the needed sponsorship to blanket the entire 18 team.
That's a team that had to reduce from two cars to one for lack of sponsorshipSmart move. JTG Daughertey always seems more "sponsored" than their close peers. Never knew who was behind it.
1 more car than a lot of teams at or even above their performance level ended up with. That's a team that had to reduce from two cars to one for lack of sponsorship
Full on panic mode works also lol. I don't know what we would do without ol' Kyle to kick around.1 more car than a lot of teams at or even above their performance level ended up with.
Don't get me wrong the Toyota jokes and ongoing banter on here about them between you and your nemesis entertains me a lot, but I respect them swallowing their pride and getting creative with this. Sure it seems desperate I'll take "desperate" over "complacent" any day.
I think Kyle's immaturity, ego and selfishness is finally catching up with him. I never understood how his current sponsors tolerated his actions. I have no idea what sponsor would want the aforementioned characteristics in a company representative. Not sure what other racing teams would be willing to dig deep in their pockets to bring him on board. If he is gone from JGR, my guess is he will be done in NASCAR. His current talent level is not any better than a lot of drivers.Full on panic mode works also lol. I don't know what we would do without ol' Kyle to kick around.
If they kick Kyle out of the "family" even if he wants to continue to drive in Nascar he is going to have to eat a big slice of humble pie to race some where's else I would guess. There aren't many rides available. I thought it would go one of two ways when Mars dropped him. Either somebody who couldn't wait would step up and sponsor him, or it would be crickets.I think Kyle's immaturity, ego and selfishness is finally catching up with him. Yeah and his being the winningest Toyota NASCAR driver doesn't show through whatsoeverWhen they can't find the guy half the time if he screws up or places down in the race and when they do he mumbles out his sponsor's names, and hops from one foot to the next wanting to be anywhere but at the track, it shows thru.
That and a couple of bucks will buy you a cup of coffee if you have 4 wins in 3 years.Yeah and his being the winningest Toyota NASCAR driver doesn't show through whatsoever
So first you're blaming his attitude for not being sponsor-friendly but now you're pivoting to his performance? Which is it?That and a couple of bucks will buy you a cup of coffee if you have 4 wins in 3 years.
How about both, will that work for ya?So first you're blaming his attitude for not being sponsor-friendly but now you're pivoting to his performance? Which is it?
At least you finally took a positionHow about both, will that work for ya?
lol.At least you finally took a position
I don't think it was really a lack of sponsorship. More of a lack of a second charter and not willing to pay that asking price for one. I never remember that car running unsponsored last seasonThat's a team that had to reduce from two cars to one for lack of sponsorship
Yeah could be. I'm not knocking the effort, but I don't think they are pulling in the kind of money a Mars or a Ally are spending in comparison. I don't think the family would go for it. Now is not the time for Kyle to think he is the greatest to hold a wheel. I think he will need to deal with the damage of a pretty drastic pay cut to his huge ego if he wants to stay with Gibbs.I don't think it was really a lack of sponsorship.
