Southern 500 RACE thread -- Darlington

Like I understand when someone’s not racing you for position and they hold you up, but like.... Clint is trying to get as many stage points as he can. Cant blame him.

And the 48 is battling him for the final playoff spot. Why would he pull over and let him by?

Yeah, but forcing a guy down on the apron, and brake checking out of 4, almost wrecking yourself and costing both of you 3 spots is dumb racing.

Denny’s throwback looks nothing like DW’s either his and Newman are biggest fail

Everybody whining about Bowyer driving hard to hold off the guy he needs to beat to make the Chase,

Open wheel racing may be more up your alley :p

Baaad stop for Kurt.

Did he brake check him? I couldn’t tell. I just saw 3 guys racing hard.

I always liked Ken Squier watching old YouTube races because during big races he’d always “2 time Southern 500 Champion” always little things like that makes the big races feel bigger. You wouldn’t know Denny won this race 2 times until Burns said something which is cool

The Chip Ganassi drivers are on point tonight.

Except when they hit the box.

If Kyle really goes into the stands and watches the race he needs to do it in one of his old throwback shirts or hat

Okay Suarez buddy now is a good time to turn on your Newman gps

Sorry Snap, I gotta disagree, Hamlins does in fact look very similar to the Western Auto scheme, its not a perfect match, but its close enough that if you were a fan from that era, you know it, now, Newmans, yes, I agree.

I mean it's close, better than the green nonsense Stenhouse ran a few years back, but they really messed up the details

This is what I'm referencing....

I knew it was DW’s from the numbers

The guy that built the track his grandsons can’t even get a suite?

Johnson’s crew made up for Bowyer’s blockage.

The door color/gradient is different and the bottom door fender stripe is different

This is not going to help your case, they are so close that its good enough for throwback weekend, you are literally trying to split hairs, I say that with a ton of respect for you.

I pointed it out when it first unveiled that the stripe was not chrome, but its still pretty damn close.

I was just making my own observation they got it as close as they could I’m sure Fed Ex wanted their own touch on it, it’s A for effort. Better than Stenhouse’s effort a few years back

Wrong shade of orange, they forgot the chrome pinstripe that separates the orange from the white/gray/black, and on Hamlin's car the orange is tapered and rises the further back it goes. DW's it was at the body line, even all the way around. Also the passenger side number should be leaning towards the front on Hamlin's car.

Like I said, I'm picky lol

On the in car, they went from 138 to 123 in 2 seconds, I'm watching it on raceview.

Thank you that’s all I was trying to say. Lmao.

If we could combine Ricky's and Hamlins into one, we would have the perfect DW WA throwback
