The major points covered and quotes:
I'm overjoyed to hear they recognize something needs to be done about the short track package. Reverting to 2018 sounds like a good start to me.
I don't think they like much, cut down the height of the spoiler, maybe narrow it also. It would be cool if they let the teams be able to adjust it
GatewayI am interested in the new venues concept, where are they going to go that people will show up to? Not being cheeky, I just dont see where they can go and expect full grand strands in this day and age. I mean are there any short tracks that are Cup ready by 2021? I just think 2021 will be schedule reshuffle, maybe not think but a BOLD PREDICTION . I also am nervous about a fourth OEM in that I hope its not Honda at the expense of them leaving/hurting Indy Car and IMSA.

Art St. Cyr said HPD can do things like IMSA and INDYCAR or do NASCAR. Basically just overall bandwidth and capability...could be a very interesting development across much of Motorsports in this country contingent on Honda.Honda will not leave INDYCAR and IMSA is extremely important to the Acura brand
In a Racer.com article, sources close to Honda said it was either one or the other, not both. I will do my best to find the article, I believe it was a Robin Miller one from last week. I hate citing sources and not being able to produce something but I will try to find article here in a bitHonda will not leave INDYCAR and IMSA is extremely important to the Acura brand
I'd be down for that. Could even attend that one, only a 3 hr driveGateway
Phelps described the racing as "great". Nascar needs to replace him.
I'm liking what Im hearing especially if they work on the short track setup
I really enjoyed the racing this season. Sure there were boring parts or boring races but there never isnt. If they can do something to make it even better thatd be great!
Ain't gona happen lol THAT one is hisI agree--and not just because WE won everything. BTW.....tell the former Champion to get his lips off of Kyle's trophy.
The fact the are acting on the short tracks is great, I appreciate they are taking the criticism from fans, drivers, and teams alike.
Let's not forget about the super speedways in Pocono and Michigan, they need tinkering as well. Maybe a bit more grunt for those tracks and @ChexOrWrex brought up a great point. NASCAR's hands are tied because the teams did not want multiple packages.
Maybe from a cost stand-point, the team owners did not care for it? This is why its important to find a something that everyone can agree on, yet be cost effective. It has to be tough to satisfy everyone.
That doesn't sound like an RTA issue. That's weak leadership on NASCAR's part, an inability or unwillingness to put that foot down. Let's remember who was (not) running the show when the RTA was formed.Which is one of the reasons I have NEVER been a supporter of the RTA. It's OK to get input, but at some point you have to have a dictator, hopefully a benevolent one, but an absolute dictator who can and will put their foot down and say "This is the way its going to be boys, if it don't work for you, the door's over there." The product MUST come first. Without that, the rest of this is just academic.
You and me both, and we both know it ain't happening. Even reconfiguring them is a pipe dream. Now if they could only dump Daytona and Talladega....
