Still waiting Eillot's win

Yeah, there is a lot of hate towards Chase. Well, Twitter is a cesspool anyways, but a lot of people are talking about how Buescher, Jones, and Blaney have won before Chase.

Two involved some interesting circumstsnces (not diminishing Buescher or Jones at all) and Blaney took his race. Chase has been the better driver in general, just some losses were his fault and others were oddities. Chase has finished 2nd eight times in his career already.

I think Chase has been as advertised, he's solidified himself as a top drivers in NASCAR. So has Blaney, albeit a bit more inconsistent, as one of the best in the field.

I hear ya, but it shouldn't be lost on any of us that Chase was the fans' vote to get into the All Star Race. I have no issue with Chase, but the hype is ridiculous. I do not agree with those who feel that multiple wins are just a matter of time. Nothing is guaranteed in this sport IMO.

The number NINE ring any bells?
Chase has raced the 9 since go karts though and won an Xfinity title in that number. He was in the 24 and people still acted salty towards the kid so the number can't be it.

People need to realize that hype is just a product of today's society. People are always looking for the next big thing and want to be the first one to discover it, and there are so many avenues to push these things out into the public now you can't even keep track. I still don't know that I've seen the so-called hype. I've mentioned this in other threads but the kid wasn't even in the top 8 or so of the most mentioned drivers last year, but his performance absolutely was. To me this whole thing is about perception.

I wonder what the backlash of this thread is going to be when Chase does finally get that win “took him 90something odd races to finally win. Still overrated.” That’s going to be it, I’d bet on it. Well I think he’ll win here in the second half, Michigan I’d say. The “Chase haters”don’t bother me I grew up a JG fan, the hate Elliott gets is very minor compared to 90’s Gordon. Id also venture to say if Chevy was still running last year and the year before car, he would have won already this year. He was running too well end of last year to not win in the first 10 races this year. The new Camaro stifled that momentum from last year IMO and I kinda think many are overlooking that. Chevy as a whole is out to lunch and should honestly be embarrassed at how it’s running compared to its Ford and Totyota competitors. At some point it has to look at itself and ask “why are we not running better this late into the season?” It’s not early anymore....The Chevy driver stable is too damn talented to be running like this.
