Storage building

Tempted to go to Wake ReStore and get paint & accessories. Can clean up & paint all the old trim at very least. No reason can't paint the whole thing. Mainly need to paint the gable ends and new section so CAN put the trim on. Not sure how you calculate how much paint is needed?

According to my pencil workings...one gallon will run out with about 8 feet unfinished. Just enough to make you mad. So...just buy 2 gallons. It's only money, write?

$72.33 @ Lowes got me a gallon of white & quart of black plus a tray/couple rollers/handle and one small brush. The ReStore trip was a bust. They've arrainged the store so the aisle the paint is in, is also the aisle everyone takes to get to the register. So...if you old enough you have to get on your prayer bones to see/get something off bottom shelf, wear your motocross boots because somebody will attempt to run over your feet. Three times in maybe 90 seconds YOU ARE IN THE WAY! They didn't say it but were obviously put-out by waiting 12 seconds. Third time, after guy actually ran into my legs, got up, pushed the cart & him sideways to get past and left.

Lowes was way less hassle and 11 dollars more gallon. Only got one for now. Maybe later today scrub and paint the trim. Probably buy another 4-5 inch brush too at some point.

Just had a thunk. Can just move the outlet that's above front door for lights only to midpoint of structure. Just remove the clips holding the Romex and drag it where I want it. Ummmm? Wait...that won't work without relocating the switch too. Don't want to do that. Have to run some 14/2. Maybe later.

You could think about doing things in some form of order … like a sane person.

Finish the roof … or let everything get soaked a few times so you can burn some more money drying it up.

The roof is covered with underlayment. It's dried in. The lights come in a package of four that daisy chain together. Very low draw. Right now the plan is to do almost nothing till fall. For real. Feels like temp was 101 few minutes ago. Big old nope.

This is what I used. Been on the porch for nearly 3 years.

Not very clear. This is what was put on top of, no shingles as it's essentially a flat roof, the front porch 3ish years ago. Whole roof of trailer was painted/sealed couple months ago and he sealed over the porch too. The product is white and absolutely affected the cooling. Even with the ridiculous heat we been having the window a/c's kick on and off. Last summer they came on in late May and went off in Oct most days. Major improvement!

It isn't too bad from 6am until 11am or noon.
Then grab a shower and be proud of what you did for the rest of the day, or even draw up plans for the next day while still enjoying the AC.

I been doing it the opposite way. Do nothing till about 3:30PM then sometimes do nothing rest of the evening.

3:30pm most days this time of the year is to hot for me.

Shed is in the shade from around 3 in afternoon but not gonna do much for next few months or until the neighbor forces me to. Will do a few things as the urge hits. IMO I'm doing retirement the optimal way. Do as little as possible. My cash flow has an influence on the whole deal. Finally started factoring in fuel costs if see what might be a marketplace bargain. Lot of times you only gonna save 10 or less dollars over Amazon or Lowes. Really need to design some shelves/cabinets tho. Much as I hate to probably buy a new toolbox from Home Depot.

Ran some 12/2 and installed a few electrical outlets. Ran out of boxes so went to Lowe's and bought 3 boxes and three covers. $5.15 cents. When getting ready to put one in where the loopish is in the 12/2 with head in azz, cut wire too far from the stud. So ended up with a socket on other wall. Not optimal placement but couldn't make my self waste 5.5 foot of 12/2. They are not connected to the grid. Really should have done the light circuit first as where back half is plugged in is where need to connect outlets. Lights will be on a separate circuit. I might cheat. Have enough 14/2 for lights to run a circuit from switch at front door just hate to have it spaghetti like in the rafters. Probably end up cheating.
