Photos from the weekend. I went camping with a handful of buddies at Caesar Creek State Park in Harveysburg, OH (basically halfway between Columbus and Cincinnati). They have "group" sections you can rent, and you basically have a bunch of land to yourself. We had a huge hill surrounded by the lake and plenty of woods, and although it's a primitive site, they did have a restroom with actual plumbing which was nice.....

You can see the water from the site.....

There's a very short trail leading to another part of the lake, which was an easy spot to get the kayaks on the water....

They have a public beach area in another part of the park, just a few minutes down the road. The water was surprisingly warm....

We cooked most of our food on the campfire or the charcoal grills, but there was a really good BBQ restaurant a couple miles away that we checked out Saturday night.

Tent camping isn't getting any easier with age, but overall, it was a damn good weekend. The weather was perfect!

That camping trip looks great! Reminds me of when I was younger. Glad it all worked out for you.

Helicopter flight into Boeing Field in Seattle.

So cool!! Thinking of taking an Amtrak trip to Seattle. Our son-in-law travels there frequently on business and speaks in glowing terms of the city as he does of Denver.

Thinking a trip out of Chicago to Denver, side trips, then onto Seattle. Still working on details and deciding on whether to sleep on train or hotels each day as the journey progresses. Took sleeper from VA to FL on auto train back in the late '80s and it sucked. Not sure what the experience would be these days thus the hesitancy.

Not sure if my pics will post but my wife and I just cooked the best ever wings and pizza over our campfire. Been trying to perfect this for years. Today's was the day!

The 'Big Pan' as a lid to capture the heat was key to the process. While perfected, it may never be duplicated. Only time will tell.

My girlfriend and I took a nice four day weekend trip to eastern Tennessee, where her mom and stepdad own a lakefront home on Watts Bar Lake. They recently built a beautiful new house on their lot, and the weather was absolutely PERFECT the whole time.....

We spent most of the weekend out on the boat or the jetskis. It was a damn good time

Beautiful home.
Beautiful setting for a home.
Beautiful scenery.

What's not to like ............ jet skis and boats in the water, fireplace and clean sheets........... living high on the hog.

Beautiful canine. Looks like he is enjoying the sunrise as much as you are. :)
He loves the beach. Endless digging. With his endless digging and my endless cooler of adult beverages, we do all right.

Side note..... I do wait to crack open that first one until the afternoon though.

I miss not having a dog in the house. We lost our last welsh corgi over Christmas, 2019. At my age getting another pet would mean making arrangements for someone to care for it when I go as it is doubtful I will outlive another corgi or a Heinz 57 rescue. Don't want to leave my Bride with an added burden when my "use by date" expires.

I think you should get one.
They will bring you so much joy.

Good thinking IMO. I have had a dog every since I can remember, sometimes many dogs lol, all of them pretty large dogs Weimariners or greyhounds . I'm doing the same thing you are. I had to face facts, they have done me well, and I owe em for that. Can't exit stage left when the show is over and leave them hanging in the lurch for somebody else to take care of.

Was at work this evening.... Just home now and the V8 SuperCars were here to fly home after the weekend at Pukekohe.... the last race there.
The first 747 freighter left with half of them just after 11pm flying them back to Australia then it will fly back and take the other half around 11am tomoro morning.
