Talladega Bonehead

If I out right hated plate racing like some here, I would nominate Bill France Sr for the BHOTW since he is the one that had this track built, but since I do not out right hate plate racing, I am not able to nominate him, but someone else here could

21 wins isn't exactly a failure of a career either

Yeah? Wtf? Backmarker?

I would have found it interesting maybe some other fans would have too, there’s always the picture in picture that’s been used in the past

I’d sure like to know what his issue was?

Yup....unless their driver won. Then Talladega is an incredible test of skill, patience, and endurance.

I will nominate the 2 team for taking so long to repair the radio. If I remember correctly they had a few chances to fix the issue. Dumb to race at that struck without a spotter. Glad they won, but could have been a bad move waiting..

You can't blame Bill France SR, as he created the TRACK, not the restrictor plate racing that now goes with it. The racing used to be much better there, although it's generally always been a wreck fest. (See 1973 Winston 500).

JJ for boo-hooing about getting parked because the crew started working on his car under the red flag.
Doesn't nascar know who he is?? Chad said ''Rules? The 48 team don't need no stinkin' rules''

Because there is no chance NASCAQR screwed up again and gave out incorrect information? Until I get more information from NASCAR or from other teams that supposedly heard the same information, I'll reserve judgment. Doesn't make much sense to pull a stunt like that with THOUSANDS of eyes (including the other teams pitted right next to you) watching every thing you do.

Lol

Chase didnt even change lanes. Daniel pushed up and tried to block too late.

If that hole wasnt there, how was half of the #24 car by the #19 before Daniel misjudged?

Chase is now in that unenviable position where if he makes a bold move, he's too aggressive, and if he doesn't, he's too timid. Truex was pretty much dead on when he said you don't win plate races by being a nice guy. These type of races force you to be a jerk, and unlike a short track, you generally can't just move people with the bumper at 190 MPH. Contact generally means a crash or day ending bodywork damage.

It's hard to watch a race on nbc, the top of the screen is an advertisement 100% of the time and its annoying as hell. I watched the last 20 laps only. Blinky burton. leotard, and allen are best left unheard, as in mute mode. The 22 car at the end was just getting in the way so the 2 could win. jr should have "accidentally" spun him. jr put himself in that spot though. he should have stayed on the 2's bumper then spun him out at the end. the 2 knows how that works. One last nomination. nascrap for letting the 48 work on the car then parking him. Something there I dont get, because i had it set to mute and didnt catch the interview and I cant read lips. yes, nbc is that annoying.

I'm going with JMac's spotter for not determining who was not going to pit and JMac for trying to pit from the middle of the track. JJ did the same thing one stop later.

Apparently there was some Neanderthal fan behaviour post-race.

Jamie for assuming everyone was going to pit right there.

I figured Chase would be nominated for this. If going for the win and being taken out halfway through the pass is a Bonehead move then I agree.

I think he had a legitimate complaint if he drove to the pits after the wreck. Work under the red is subject to discipline, but still the same he progressed further than the cars that had to be towed, at least I think he did.

I really wasnt being 100% serious with my reply though.
You could say that he did though , when NASCAR first started using plates on some engines in the early 70's, while it was not full on plate racing, the seed was planted when he was in charge of NASCAR.

Of course, I am not seriously sitting saying we should blame him, if you can not tell, I am not being 100% serious.

I would believe Chad and JJ before the lame brains at Nascar.

I'm voting again because I forgot to put NBC up. The leader of the race on Sunday from lap 71 to 82 was Matt DiBenedetto and NBC failed to show him once. Oh they chatted about him but never showed his car to give his sponsor airtime. The Morning Guys on SirusXM NASCAR radio were defending NBC's decision. I have one question in response to their defense of NBC... If it had been Dale Jr. or Danica out front how much airtime would have NBC given that car? At a minimum it would have been a split screen shot. IMO, what NBC did was just typical of their lame coverage of NASCAR, and reflects the horrible quality they bring to the table. Also IMO, for the Morning Guys attempting to back-up what NBC did just reinforces my believe that they are homers for NASCAR and nothing else.

This morning's segment by those guys has really made me question why I listen to the NASCAR mouthpieces on NASCAR radio. Ya know what? I'm not going to any longer. I'll listen to the Dan Patrick Show in the morning instead. At least he isn't an apologist for any network.

I cancelled my subscription a while back..... Haven't missed it.

Later in the week we get the "I think" show ( aka nascrap america live on nbcsn) Every comment starts with the phrase,"I think". It stars blinky burton, dj the I think master
and krista something. They analyze every aspect of the race except the crummy commentators. I think that show sucks and I think I aint watchin it no more.....I think.
The sport is failing and nbc is a major reason why, I think.
