So on what lap will we see the 1?

One of my favorite races of the year. Any predictions out there? Here's to a good race! :beerbang:
 
I think it's going to wait until the end of the race. I'm going with 178-188.

Earnhardt Jr. will be victorious today with his first win in..... well, it's been so long I can hardly remember. Go Jr. :beerbang:
 
You know..... You have to stick with your driver through the good and the bad times. There were good times, right? I seem to remember some good times, but then again it could all be just a dream.

Seriously though, he gave some of us a little hope last weekend when he took the lead for the first time is what feels like a year.
 
For anyone that's interested, DirecTV Hot Pass channels today are Hamlin, Harvick, Bowyer & Johnson.
 
I'll say the big one will be on lap 163, so we got a pool going? I'm in for $50 internet $$. McMurrary will win.
 
That's a *****in' (okay, sweet) lookin' ride that Jr. has today. Cool to see Joe lead a lap!:beerbang:
 
I wanna see the "move to the back" strategy backfire on these guys, and the big one happen in that part of the field:D
 
I don't like to complain about ESPN, but the restrictor plate races are races you almost have to air Side-by-Side. So much happening during the commercials.

If they don't do it for anything else, they should at least do Side-by-Side or Wide Open for the two Talladega races and the Firecracker 400 (I understand if they don't do it for the Daytona 500).

Happens every time. The Big One happens because they're extremely aggressive in moving back to the front. More times than not, one of those guys hanging out in the back is the cause of The Big One.
 
Hey, did Jamie Little tie the knot? That was a pretty big rock she had on her ring finger this morning. Who's the lucky guy? :growl:
 
Look at that, ESPN using split screen technology to show more than one battle on the track.

SPEED should watch this and take notes.
 
Interesting how smoothly the 31 and 17 were ( until just now) swapping the lead.
 
Third time in the last four years they've raced like this (riding around single file). This only happens at Talladega during the Chase races.
 
Okay ESPN, you've got to work on commercial placement.

20-30 laps where they're riding around single file and they take one 3 minute commercial break. But the commercials come hot and heavy when the racing gets good.

To be fair -- TNT, SPEED and Versus IndyCar have the same problem.
 
Four and five wide for the lead! This is an accident looking for the best place to happen! :eek:

The slow cars being overtaken at the rate they are, it looks like an ARCA race.
 
88, 29, and 18 have some cool paint jobs today.

Wow, those guys who lost the draft from pitting are in for a long day.

This is absolutely ridiculous. Every time the intensity really picks up, they're going to commercial.
 
5 wide and no big one sweet. Best (and still my fav.) Daga race I ever watched was the 96 race only 3 cautions and one was for some rain for about 3 laps, there was no big one and on the last lap Mark Martin took the win in a Ford.
 
Good, get that idiot in the 43 out of there. Good save though.
 
How fitting- they talk about the point leaderrs hanging back, and disaster is averted up in the lead pack.

How did they make that 4 wide work a few laps ago? I coulda swore the bottom line had their lefts under the yellow line
 
If The Big One happens on a restart, it doesn't matter if you're in the back or not, it's gonna look just like an ARCA crash. I really don't like that strategy.
 
I wanna know why Rusty Wallace things Waltrip should go back and help Hamlin...how many people did Wallace "help" in his career? I don't blame Waltrip, for him to drop back that far would have been really risky.
