TALLADEGA AL. FORECAST ALSO

Don't shoot the messenger, grin and drink another adult beverage of your choice.

John Wes Townley won the pole in ARCA Qualifying but his time was thrown out when he failed post-race tech. That puts Milka Duno on the pole.

Makes me want to skip Kingsport or Ace tomorrow and watch this clusterfluck.
Just read where JWT qualified 10th for the Nationwide race and that car didn't pass tech time disallowed. He's supposed to replace I think it said Jeff Green.

Hell he's taking after KyBu.

John Wes Townley initially qualified 10th, but his No. 25 Toyota was ruled to be too low in qualifying and his time was disallowed. As a result, Tim Andrews -- who originally did not qualify -- is now in the 40-car field, and Townley's entry is out. Townley, though, will replace Jeff Green in the No. 10 car and start 14th

Like German ****roaches, cant hardly get rid of him.

Whoever chose to put JWT in a car over a former champion is a cold, hard idiot.

:)****roaches with daddy's sponsor money. JWT keeps turning up like a bad penny...oh yeah, sorry Jeff, hit the road. JWT got his bell rung in the ARCA race. Milka hip checked him into the wall, and he did his best imitation of a ping pong ball.

Key word "former"...Jeff Green hasn't won a race in 11 years. 16 career Nationwide wins over 22 years isn't exactly setting the world on fire. Which is why he has zero Cup wins in almost 270 races.
JWT wads up cars on a regular basis but today's wreck was all Milka's fault.

I'm no longer in the campground. Waiting for the service desk at walmart to open to shove a leeky tent up someones rear.

I agree that Milka moved up (to avoid hitting another car) , but the announcers barely mentioned that JWT also moved down at the same time . That looked like a racin deal to my old eyes. In the other deal that they blamed her for , she had to brake to avoid a car that cut down on her and hit her , when he wasn't cleared . Nascars usual intolerence , no big deal.:D

I don't for a second believe that people who claim to hate plate races yet still watch actually dislike them. I don't like The Bold and The Beautiful or Duck Dynasty so I don't watch them.

I guess I can't fathom why anyone would intentionally partake in an activity which they find so distasteful
I've been known to say I don't like plate racing. What I guess I really mean is, "I don't like plate racing as much as unrestricted races, but it beats watching baseball, basketball, golf, or whatever else is on this weekend." If it was on opposite an Indy or Grand Am race, I'd probably tape it and watch one of those live instead. That's my plan for tomorrow when the last hour of the Indy race overlaps with the start at Talladega. (I admit the weather forecast makes that an easy decision.)

Because of my NASCAR addiction I watch every lap of every one of these RP "races" (Talladega has no business being part of The Chase) and I try to enjoy them for what they are. However, there is no denying that the closing laps tend to produce an unbelievable amount of tension, excitement and drama. Even if the majority of the race is somewhat pointless the finishes are often a proper payoff.

And it could be said that the middle laps of most non-RP races are pointless too. On the other hand, any GWC finish produces drama and tension.

I disagree

as I've gotten older, I've come to believe that it's not the destination that's important, it's the journey

imo, you can't have a great finish without having made the effort of getting there

I've always loved to watch every lap to see "the journey". I hate seeing the end of the race after missing the middle and not knowing how everyone ended up where they did. Whether they were up front all day or if they came back from a bad start. Who wrecked, who's laps down, who's on what tire and/or fuel strategy etc. It makes the end of the race much more exciting. Plus there's nothing worse than checking on a race to see how your driver is doing and seeing that he's 37 laps down in 35th and not knowing what happened. Sometimes it can be boring but without watching the whole race it severely takes away from the excitement of the finish in my opinion.

Well you're bringing all this good news.... do you know the rescheduling of the races if it does rain all weekend?
Usually both on Monday and post the times after the rainouts but DP is better at this rain delay stuff than me.

Neither one can hold their lane, but the #2 car was causing more wrecks than a drunken Juan Pablo in a jet dryer show room.

Not too bad Monday.
