Yes! They had some great camera angles of the burnout but having a victory interview before victory lane watered down victory lane. Especially with pandemic protocols, victory lane celebrations hardly even exist. It’s time to bring all of that back. Fill victory lane to the brim and shoot confetti and spray champagne.

I think victory lane should be on the frontstretch in front of the fans. Said it many times, one of the best things about Cup at Martinsville. I hated going to races and then you can't see victory lane when your guy wins because it's in the middle of the infield, out of sight, and only open to media and VIPs.

Jac Collinsworth joined NBC Sports Group as a host and reporter in March 2020. In his first assignment, Collinsworth serves as host of NBC Sports’ digital series, Distanced Training: Ready to Get Back in the Game, which showcases the home workouts and mental training of some of the world’s top professional, collegiate, and Olympic athletes.
Collinsworth, the son of NBC Sunday Night Football analyst Cris Collinsworth, previously worked for NBC Sports on Notre Dame Football in on- and off-camera capacities. He also served as NBC Olympics’ first-ever social media correspondent at the 2016 Rio Olympics.
With ESPN during the 2017-19 NFL seasons, Collinsworth interviewed star players and coaches – often in unconventional settings – showing their personalities and telling their stories. He also anchored NFL Live and hosted Sunday NFL Countdown segments. In July 2019, he was named host of The Huddle, the signature football program on ESPN’s ACC Network.
Previously – while a student at Notre Dame – Collinsworth worked on the sideline production team for Fighting Irish football games on NBC from 2013-17. In addition, he was a sideline reporter for NBC Sports telecasts of the Notre Dame Blue-Gold spring football game in 2016 and 2017. At the 2016 Rio Olympics, Collinsworth served as NBC Olympics’ social media correspondent, interviewing athletes as a part of the Olympic Late Night with Ryan Seacrest team.
Also, while in South Bend, Collinsworth created, produced and hosted a weekly ND Live digital series focused on the Notre Dame Football team. For three years, he filed weekly player features for head coach Brian Kelly’s nationally-syndicated television show, Inside Notre Dame Football, and was featured on Showtime’s A Season with Notre Dame Football, where he interviewed athletes on his weekly podcast. He also covered Notre Dame Pro Day in 2016 and 2017 for NFL Network. During his last two years of college, Collinsworth co-hosted The Student Section on Sirius XM.
A native of Fort Thomas, Kentucky, Collinsworth is a 2017 graduate of Notre Dame University with a degree in Film, Television and Theatre
 
So instead of hiring somebody that knows something about racing (like an X driver) they hire a youngster who is a footballer...makes sense.
 
Judging from the fan noise...NASCAR should have been racing in Nashville this entire time. A huge mistake righted today, more races in the south! Unfortunately we have to deal with the NBC gerbils today
 
So Brad Paisley is this year’s NBC song...they finally got rid of the Tom Petty Discount store knockoff

Apparently they shared a moment at DEI. Jimmie was with Ron Hornady, and Dale drove up to him, and asked "hey kid, you on payroll?" Then told Jimmie to **** off, only to be told by Hornady that he was working with him.

Considering Dale Jr said he think dad woulda thought Jimmie was a badass, I'd imagine Dale would get a kick out of that moment.

I wish we could just bypass the rest of the regular season races and start the playoffs tomorrow.

When ever there is a lul in their incessant yapping, they dial up the playoffs. They can go on and on about who does what for hours if they so desire. And none of it means a dam thing at this point in the season.

Exactly.

The moment anyone has a problem, there's Burton to remind us about playoff implications and how much this matters and how big it could impact everything.

There's a long way to go before the playoffs, he needs to chill the hell out.

The final 3 laps were terrible.

Rick Allen was blabbering about how he "talked to Rick Hendrick", about how he changed his philosophy towards letting drivers run in other series because Kyle Larson is so passionate about racing. And he can't take that away from him..and he can't take it away! Oh, and sometimes Chase Elliot likes to run late models too (we see Kurt Busch running out of gas, coming out of turn 4), Rick continues to blabble for another half lap before Jr. Cuts him off to talk about Kurt, and Rick basically gasps "what do you see!"

Rick doesn't even watch the ****** race. Just reads off his WWE cards, which he practiced reciting dozens of times I'm sure.

They did that more than once..it was so important their B.S. that what was happening on the track they ignored. I remember time and time again Joy or one of the others would interrupt the stories if something was happening on the track. That is always #1
 
Still wondering what happened with Krista Voda. She was great at what she did.

I do like Collinsworth though, I know people think football cause of his dad but he's done a mix of things for NBC. Give him time, he's gonna be looked at as one of the good ones someday.

Kevin Harvick's Championship in 2014, IRC, included a brief fanfare by Allen Bestwick coming to the white flag. Then, total silence for the entire last lap. Bestwick then says out of turn 4 "he's gonna do it", and announces Harvick as 2014 champion.

The product is telling the story. That's how to call a race.

Rick Allen is the absolute worst, I still have no idea what he was babbling about that caused Dale Jr to cut him off. He’s such a cheap dollar store imitation WWE commentator with his over the top delivery of everything that happens on track. NASCAR as a whole and the fans deserve so much better than this boob every week. I’m already tired of his BS and it’s the first week. Heaven help me.

All of them were awful this weekend. Dale Jr sounds like he has a chronic case of constipation, Rick was Rick, Burton couldn't math plus he had a playoff boner all race, and Letarte thought Nashville was a Martinsville clone.

If I had to choose to fire on NBC announcer, Burton would be the first to go. He adds literally nothing to the broadcast.
 
Like I said weeks ago, hopefully it stays just Bowyer and Joy next year. The less talking there is the better off we are
 
I'll be interested to see what Fox does next year with their pre-race show. Before Covid, they got rid of Chris Meyer and replaced him with Adam Alexander. But Meyer came back this year, not sure if that was planned or a reaction to Covid protocols. But they also went only had 2 pit reporters, 3 at a select few races. Matt Yocum was the odd man out. NBC seems to be normal except no Krista Voda, I think she announced she wasn't coming back or they canned her. I can't remember. But NBC has the advantage with the pits and the garage being mostly normal as compared to the start of the season.
