The Gator...er, Budweiser Duels at Daytona

Tony looked pretty strong coming back to the lead pack in that first race too...he may have an ace up his sleeve.

Heck, sandbagging at Daytona is an art form.

Clint Nailed the Landing

His post race interview was priceless. Matt Yocum asked him about the flip and Clint said "when it came back down, it was pointed in the right direction so I just downshifted and drove back to the pits!" On top of that, Mikey said in his own post race interview that he could see Clint still working the wheel while the car was in the air!

If this had happened to any other driver besides Clint Bowyer, it wouldn't have been half as funny.

gees what are you Gordon wankers complaining about, he finished 2nd. Gordon fans are the absolute biggest crybabies.:XXROFL:They both screwed Kurt.

That line might have worked in 1996, but Johnson is a ****** teammate. It ain't just based off of tonight's race.

yeah they came out of it with all undamaged cars and Kurt didn't have any trouble getting in and had speed. So as i see it anyway the two SHR cars that raced finished well, 2nd and 3rd. Tony wasn't going that hard and Danica?, we have a whole couple of threads about that.:)

Good old Clint just doesn't like his cars to be facing straight forward.

Caught him sleeping.

Old men still got the sharp killer instinct.
Was the most aggressive I've seen Gordon in a long time. From the drop of the green flag he was on Truex's bumper and then that move he threw on Kurt really got my blood pumping again. Maybe all the buzz about his retirement has him fired up?

Lets hope not i like the subdude, daddy Gordon much better.

Looks like HMS has some work to do when TRD can overpower them on the outside like they did last night.

TRD has been strong in these little heat races. Wonder how they'll hold up for 500 miles

Probably mentioned earlier in this thread. I'm too lazy to go back and read the 350+ posts before this but a few things about last night's race.....

I sure didn't like seeing Truex's window net down in the aftermath of that accident. I'm talking about when he was still doing a buck fifty through the infield on fire. NASCAR needs to figure that one out. No, he didn't put it down. That, according to his interview on MRN.

I sure liked seeing that bottom line working. More drivers need to get that going. Tough to change old habits. NASCAR needs to take some time during one of these rained out practice sessions and have the drivers view last night's races.

Cool to see Keselowski move up positions on his own. He and others were able to pull off that move throughout the pack.

Great to see the second pack be able to close up on the first.

Further proof that DW needs to retire. 2nd race, somewhere around 9 laps to go with the second pack on fresh tires..... DW..... No way that there's time for that second pack to catch the first pack. 2 laps later..... DW..... See I told you they were going to catch them. WTF DW? Let's get some fresh meat in that FOX booth. It's time.

I caught that too.

It was pretty damn pathetic.

It was nice to see the whole night go just about caution-free. Turns out you can have good races without those after all.

I called Clint's flip an "E" ticket ride. Only 2 of you seem to know what that was. ROTFLMAO

I guess I'm that old. :D
I remember these well. And for those wondering what the hell TRL was talking about.

The phrase E ticket (or E ticket ride) refers to an unusually interesting, thrilling, or expensive experience. It derives from the admission ticketsystem used at the Disneyland and Magic Kingdom theme parks before 1982, where the E ticket (officially termed "E coupon") admitted the bearer to the newest, most advanced, and/or most popular rides and attractions.

In June 1959, amid the completion of Disneyland's first major expansion, Disney introduced the "E" designation for the park's most popular attractions and made the new Submarine Voyage,Matterhorn Bobsleds, and Disneyland–Alweg Monorail "E" coupon attractions. Additionally, the Santa Fe & Disneyland Railroad, Rocket to the Moon, Rainbow Ridge Pack Mules, Rainbow Mountain Stage Coaches, Mark Twain Riverboat, Sailing Ship Columbia, Rafts to Tom Sawyer Island, and Jungle Cruise – all previously "D" rides – were upgraded to "E".[1] "E" remained the highest attraction/coupon designation for over 20 years. Several "E" attractions were added throughout the 1960s and 1970s. In 1971 the coupon system was duplicated at the Magic Kingdomwhen it opened.

And here I thought 'E ticket' meant Sr just flipped you.

probably should wait until he is off his pain meds..until you mr perfects stick the knife in. the fellow was in the hospital having his gallbladder removed a day or so previous.

It would take proof of 20 years of pain medication for that to be a valid excuse for DW's self worshipping antics.

Good to see a garage shot and Nascar had both of the winning Gibbs motor's apart. If they are legal, they have to be favorites to win the big one.
