I understand what Nascar does, they are the ones that run the races and all of that.
But think about this, Nascar doesn't own the tracks or the race teams. They aren't the one's that are spending massive amounts of money, yet they are the ones that receive boat loads of money from TV contracts.
I've said for a long time that Nascar needs to change the way its ran, it needs a commissioner like the other sports and the team owners should be the ones that basically "own" Nascar. They should be the ones that make the rules, set the tv contracts, and everything that goes along with it.
If I'm an owner in the RTA, I'm advocating for a breakaway from Nascar all together.
Can you imagine if all these teams took their cars to a different race track next Sunday and another TV network aired it, what do you think people will be watching? The Nascar sanctioned race, or the RTA sanctioned race?
