Kyle Larson for chasing down KB, getting turned completely sideways on the last lap to the flag and being able to handle it and still finish second!!

Man oh man, is Kyle Larson ever a wheel man, amazing car control. The kid is something else.

Kinda proves it ain't the Chevy Car.

not really to me, If Larson was in an SHR/team car all year, there wouldn't be a goose egg in his win column. Love to see Ganassi become an affiliate to SHR.

Chase Elliott too, right?

The moment for me was when KB refused to be used up by a failed slide job, and took what was rightfully his.

This. The criticism he has received in undeserving. He did what he had to do, just moved Larson out of the way. Larson himself put Busch into the wall that same lap.

Larson knew what he was doing, and who he was doing it to. He wins....the crowd goes wild and only Kyle and his fans are pissed. He gets what he had coming, and he plays the "Ah shucks, I had it coming" deal. Win-win for Larson. He knew that.

I admire Larson for his determination to win, the thing got settled on the track instead of in the pits after the race. The bully Harv should take notes. The new avatar is beyond awesome BTW Rowdy owes us a bow and a burnout ... I am very displeased

umm no what it proves is larson is just that darn good. Harvick himself said larson is the next jeff gordon. yesterday you saw why. The fact he is doing that in a crap gnassai car, that is also a chevy shows. jmac has the same cars. HMS has more sponsorship and resources but where are they? lucky to finish top 15. Larson is really that good. The mistake he made was not running high in 3 and 4 taking the MO off the top and banging door handles if needed across the line.

I have to admit....as soon as he did that, I knew that avatar was in my future. This one might be long term. My fav by far!

if Ganassi/Larson ever gets affiliated with SHR it would be lights out

For the moment.....What would you have been saying abut Ganassi/Toyota a year ago?

It wasn't a failed slider. Larson said that he went in to try and get next to him to kill his momentum and when he realized it wasn't going to stick he knew he had to hit him to bog him down. If Larson lifts there his momentum is killed and KB is gone. He pulled a banzai move and it didn't stick. KB even said that he expected a slider and when Larson didn't give it to him he was shocked. He said it's the first time he expected a slider, prepared for a slider and then it didn't happen. KB talked about how he lifted a little to prepare to cut back down on a cross over attempt, but Larson didn't want him to have the opportunity to do it so he hit him. It was a series of calculated moves by both guys, which is amazing that at the speed they were traveling they are capable to process like that and change plans on a whim. It was a fantastic display of what we all wish it was like all the time. End of the day two of the absolute best, if not the two best wheel man the sport has to offer put on a great display of technical and brute skill in those cars.

yeah you can't adjust them right? but Cryle can :D
Kyle seems to possess the ability to make a car better over the course of a race, I don't think that all drivers have the same skill

It was a huge failure, he drove the car he was passing into the wall. But it was a hell of a show that I hope gets repeated more often.

I enjoyed the hell out of it . as well as the on track antics preceding it. Rowdy is a racer, he knew he had done nothing wrong and he laughed in the haters face.
I loved it. The sport needs personalities like him. The two that battled for the win yesterday are the most exciting drivers the sport has right now, and the finish was incredible. Neither driver in my opinion did anything wrong. That's what NASCAR racing is all about. Going all out for wins no matter what it takes.

I love KB. I think he is great for the sport. I think that his fans can be a little hypocritical. Either way you had 2 guys that love to win more than anything. Larson will knock the wall down to get the most speed and momentum out of the car and KB is willing to wreck his family for the W. I truly laughed at KB mocking he fans. Give them something to yell and holler and boo about. The fact that anyone was out there booing just shows how dumb they are. You don't have to like the guy, but have some perspective for the show you just saw. If you paid for your ticket you got your money's worth and then some. That is all you can ask for as a consumer.

I also agree that Larson will over drive anything he is in. He is used to muscling sprint cars and Cup cars seem to require the right amount of finesse to keep the car from fading. I think the amazing thing is that he was able to drive the car to the final inch of the track and only made the one mistake in the fence when he was most likely digging harder then he had all day.

I knew there were boo's, but I didn't know they were this loud, all of the jabber mouths kinda drowned them out.Funny as hell, at least he didn't get beer cans

Most of the seat warmers at the track probably think Rowdy dumped Larson

To be fair, it probably looked more like a dump from the front stretch stands and without the benefit of replay. Larson's contact off turn 2 was likely less visible than on TV.

They're mostly booing Kyle Busch, not the move. If another driver had done that to Kyle Busch, the same fans would likely be cheering. That's their prerogative.

Who doesn't boo Kyle Busch? It's like booing Bill Laimbeer. You just do it because it's fun.

Kyle Busch is great for NASCAR. He's super talented, provides great one liner quotes to the media, has his family in victory lane every time, and plays a great heel. I love to cheer against the guy!

I don’t boo the KyBu.
I have no idea who Bill Laimbeer is.

Super talented, tremendous driver, yes. Great heel? I'm not sure there is much evidence of a 'love to hate' him factor benefiting the sport. Successful black hat characters usually have as much or more charisma than the 'good guys'. It appears to me that most of the time Busch still thinks he should be treated like a hero.

And that's the fun of racing. You don't hate the guy, it's nothing personal against him or his fans. Every sport has a black hat that people
like to root against.

Maybe not the greatest heel, but by today's vanilla standards I would say he is as close to a heel as we are going to get.

I remember when people didn’t like Dale Sr.
Because he was good and didn’t care about what people thought of him.
I was never a Sr. fan, per se (Chevrolet,) but I knew he was the **** and I miss him.
I’m not comparing the abilities of KyBu with that of Dale Sr. but I think there are similarities within their respective fanbases.
