I bet when Chevy shows there 2013 cup car ,all other brands will change theirs.

This is what I think the car will be.....http://www.goauto.com.au/mellor/mellor.nsf/story2/41258C2CF945255FCA257863001E2813....I THINK this because of what has been said in interviews after this article was written. Also they say it's a new name plate, this would be one. Plus in Daytona Chevrolet said this would be special, this would fit that also. And finally I say this because, Rick Hendrick referred to the new car in an interview simply as an SS. Anyway, this is what I'm thinking. Chevrolet will let us know in early April before the NY Auto Show.

Heard someone yesterday on Sirius NASCAR talk of possible new Chevelle. Seems far fetched not to have a street car car on the road alread tho.

Although licensing agreements need to be worked out, this will be the one we see on track in 2013.

There was talk of using the Caprice for NA$$CAR, which is currently being made available to law enforcement agencies thru GM.

The car is a HOLDEN, imported from AUSTRALIA by GM
USA! USA! USA!

But, according to the article, it would take some doing (and signifigant financial help from GM) for Holden to export this car for the US retail market.

So far, the Fusion (Mexico), the Charger (Canada) and the Camry (USA) have been announced as base models for 2013.

Last time GM tried to make a holden car work in the US, the GTO flopped like a fish in a boat.

Yeah, that's why I think they won't be calling this a Chevelle. I had a GTO and it was nice, but everybody compared it to the old ones saying it didn't look anything like a GTO. I just asked them if it was supposed to?

The GTO is an awesome car! A buddy of mine has one and he loves it. The G8 seemed like a pretty sporty number as well.
That was a failure in marketing and a victim of Pontiac's unfortunate demise.

Chevelle? No, no, but close....The Chevette returns next year!

"It'll drive you happy!" ( sad that I still remember that jingle, lol)

The G6/G8 were nice. The GTO was ugly, IMO.

The Pontiac G8 was also a Holden car and did very well. I own one, it's a great car.

Ever since Pontiac was shut down, there were rumors that Chevy was going to get Holden to produce a car for them. But nothing has ever been announced regarding that, yet.

I read a story last night that said GM was going to pump more money into Holden which leads people to believe Holden will be producing a car for Chevy other than the current police cars.

I know the wait's nearly over,but I just saw a 2013 SS CAMERO with a 2 point air dam.

The Autoshow starts Friday, they say this is where they will reveal both the production and racecar. Camaro would not be a new nameplate.

They were going to come out with a G8 sport truck aka El cameno but Pontiac closed.

It may be badged as a Lumina again

The GTO was targeted at a small niche of buyers, those that bought them Loved them. It was really a Very Very Good car with virtually no issue's mechanicaly ( the rear diffs where easily "Over Powered" by those of us that modified them ) We worked on alot of them adding performance upgrades both in the engine and suspension areas and saw very few part failures even with some of the cars pushing 700HP, we did have one manual trans car that repeatedly broke halfshafts until I convinced the owner to install drag bags and not launch on the limiter.
I beleive Alot more would have been sold if the Goverment had not added on the $3k gas guzzler tax ( the GTO missed the cutoff by less than .5 mpg ) and if there would have been more options availible. Did you ever see the option list on a GTO.....You can have a 6 speed manual or a automatic and it can be Red,Black,Blue,Silver,Yellow or a weird Orange/Copper thats your choices on a $33,000 car.
I Loved the GTO's Great Hi Performance car.
