Ah NASCARs short lived aquacar division
I am a sucker for beach photos...
I can't help but imagine what it must have been like to see those races in person. I envision those races as being somewhat like NASCAR's equivalent of the Monaco Grand Prix at the time. Just fascinating.

A long time ago --- on a dirt track that no longer exists. Track champions 4 years in a row. One of times I got to hold the trophy.
My husband is to my left in the picture. He and his brother, kneeling on the left near the back wheel. They were the builders of the car and chief
mechanics. The driver is wearing the CAT hat --- his father owned the car and drove it for the first 3 years we ran, then the son took over.
Lots of late Saturday nights spent at the track. I cleaned the mud out of the seat and off the radiators --- they ran 3. And put clean tear-offs on the driver's helmet.
Oh, to be that young again. LOL About 1975, or so, when this was taken.
