Hunting in New Mexico after 1950's A Bomb Tests.

Fred Dessaro the orange headers were badass
Charlie Jarzombek died in a wreck at Martinsville. I never saw his cars in person but I think they were beautiful.
Charles Powell III Dash Series 1996
#2 Mark Martin
I am a sucker for beach photos...
I can't help but imagine what it must have been like to see those races in person. I envision those races as being somewhat like NASCAR's equivalent of the Monaco Grand Prix at the time. Just fascinating.
Great photos, that motorsport.com aerial photo of the whole beach course is way cool. . Good ole America Stock Car Racing
A long time ago --- on a dirt track that no longer exists. Track champions 4 years in a row. One of times I got to hold the trophy.
My husband is to my left in the picture. He and his brother, kneeling on the left near the back wheel, were the builders of the car and chief
mechanics. The driver is wearing the CAT hat --- his father owned the car and drove it for the first 3 years we ran, then the son took over.
Lots of late Saturday nights spent at the track. I cleaned the mud out of the seat and off the radiators --- they ran 3. And put clean tear-offs on the driver's helmet.
Oh, to be that young again. LOL About 1975, or so, when this was taken.
You meet the best people at the racetrack.
Thank you so much for sharing that. I know it means a lot to you.
^ Not a picture but I am so thankful I got to grow up watching these heroes race at my home track.
Thank you so much for this TRL.
My Mom’s cousins second car, 58 Edsel with a monster Ford 427. Richard Peterson, ran from 66-72 and won 4 championships at Escanaba.
