TRD plate power=huge

Kyle Busch had me jumping on the couch again !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He almost won the damned thing again, just like 2012 :D

Was Mom mad? ;)

Hell of a save and drive back to the front. He's not getting credit for separating the Penske cars, but that kept them from challenging Denny.

While there was some of that going on, the #18 didn't side draft the #2 down in front of him. Keselowski made that decision.

Huh? What? Do you understand how all this works?

1) 2 cars close together can usually catch a single car.
2) When a 3rd car side drafts the trailing car, the 2 cars separate (ie, no longer close together)
3) This move also gives the 3rd car a run on the 1st, which MUST then change lanes to block (see rule TS132-5a/sub C in the Tony Stewart rule parsing guide)

I know what I seen and apparently we seen it differently. That's life :)

I would love to see Toyota pick up their first Daytona 500 win next Sunday. I just hope those fast TRD engines hold up the whole 500 miles.
Not going to happen, it will be another Hendrick powered car that goes to victory lane, so just stop thinking that nonsense.;)

I didn't see any body have an advantage last night. I did see any car that got a run could pass at any time unless of course he got side drafted, blocked, or wrecked. The latter happened more times than not. Blocking everywhere creates wrecks, but its what they have to do given the new package. You block and that run will push you forward.

Great driving and a bit of luck put Denny upfront at the end.
Good race to watch, I think the 500 will be less exciting. These drivers dont like to wreck. They will be less likely to take chances in a 500 miler.
Until the last 50 miles and then it will be a free for all!

I'll have to dig this post up next Sunday. I'll give you the appropriate credit if you're right and the appropriate plate of crow if you're wrong ;)

There was enough time for Joey to get back to Brad.. he was neck and neck with the 18 when Brad went low.. Brad could have stayed up and Joey would have been able to give him that push.

That is exactly how that played out. #22 and #18 were neck and neck

Yep, because Brad blocked the 18, right? If he hadn't, the 18 may have been able to side draft the 2 and get by both of them.

The Penske drivers are their own worst enemies, no help needed for those 2 clowns. Joey has been drinking the GOOD milk that Kasey needs

I doubt it.. side drafting was big but I think the push from Joey would have done more for Brad than side drafting would have for Kyle.

lol OMG, I guess some just wont get it, but I'll give it one more shot.

HOW CAN JOEY PUSH BRAD WHEN KYLE JUST SEPERATED THEIR CARS?

It wouldn't have mattered. All that happened coming off turn 4. There wasn't enough time at that point to work up a run at Denny.

Still would have given them a better chance.. the finish would have been closer... and the point is that Denny didn't have a super engine. He got a good run and timed it perfectly and got some help from his team mate.

It might have been closer, or Kyle might have passed Brad for 2nd place.
Brad was protecting his position by going low to block Kyle. Brad knew at that point they weren't going to catch Denny, and Kyle was on the bottom threatening to pass, so he went low to block it.

I duno...I just watched it again and I still think if Brad stayed in front of Joey he would not only have stayed ahead of Kyle but pulled Joey up past him too. He had a nice amount of distance between him and the 18 and 22... that would have let Joey pull up and they probably both could have passed Kyle, but who knows, maybe Kyle would have got a run and Joey wouldn't have been able to clear him.. but from the look of it Joey was getting a run sucking up to Brad with a nice distance between him and the 18 before Brad went low and pulled the 18 past the 22. It's hard to say really... was it the draft from Brad or the side draft from Joey that got Kyle up there? No way to know for sure... one's thing's for sure though... that was one hell of a race!
