I'm excited!! Hope it has better ratings than the cup race.

It'll be good to see racing at the Rock again. Hope the trucks put on a good show and the fans show up and tune in at home. I also hope there's no cup guys going to stink up the show.

Kasey Kahne doesn't stink up the show, he just wins

Ty Dillon and Parker Kligerman both have ARCA wins at Rockingham. I wouldn't count them out at all.

The UARA late model race has 31 entries and one of our local drivers (Rusty Alton) is competing in the Street Stock race.

Why is Kasey even running there? Can't he just let the CWTS regulars be the focus of the show?

It is possible that Hillinberg asked him to come ..in an effort to get bums in the seats . I'm surprised more of the big guns didn't make an effort to be there in support of the track . Oh well , if they don't get a big crowd , they will have an excuse . If the show is really great but noone shows up , then there won't be any more shows.

I didn't think they'd show up, but I'm hearing they might actually sell this one out.

Yep, this is do or die. If they fill the stands for this race, they make a strong case for Nationwide to come back.

They have two excuses if they don't though. 1) NASCAR in Texas, 2) NHRA 4-Wide Nationals at Charlotte.

Don't get me wrong, I love racing and I'd love to haul ass down there at the last minute, but there are priorities. This week was an explosive week in local politics and there's some important stuff going on this weekend -- I can't just take a vacation in the middle of all this.

No matter what, our livelihoods trump racing. I am still sick about not being able to go to Richmond in 2 weeks but those are white people problems.

I really don't want to hear any cup drivers talk about "missing" the rock. If they wanted it back, this would be the best time to flood the field, and put on a show. Tony, and Kevin don't have anyone to answer to, they could be there. Tony pops up at a dirt track around here at random, he could easily pop in at the Rock too.

I don't want the weekend to be over before it starts but I am looking forward to seeing this race on Sunday. 86 degrees and sunny is what I am hearing the forecast is. That could get brutal.

First time there for the trucks on this track. Only a select few of these drivers have ever even raced on this track.

Your right, Andy, we all have priorities and responsibilities outside of racing so when someone can't go to any one certain track...well, we have more important things to do. All of us.

I see that you're no different.

They just said on Speed that anyone who chooses, can buy a ticket to the race for a serviceman or servicewoman from Fort Bragg.

Yep.

At least where I'm going Sunday (and being paid to be there) is free lunch and everything, and on the water. Beautiful day for it.

That place should have been sold out for months. Every NASCAR fan who lives within 2 hours of that place should want to go. Obviously some people have to work or may be broke but still...

Wow, I just looked at the Truck lineup and realized that I don't have a dog in this fight :( There's not a driver in the lineup that I would pull for or listen to on the scanner.
I realize that the Truck Series provides some of the best stock car racing and I realize that Rockingham is a great facility. I guess I'm just Cup driver spoiled. I really wasn't entirely interested in following yesterday's race because of the lack of Cup talent in the Nationwide race, even though there were some good moments and a Ford won.
My point of view may be of the minority but the grandtands don't lie.

Kasey Kahne, Paul Menard, Denny Hamlin, Brad Keselowski and Joey Logano.

Do I wish I went to Rockingham? **** no. Today's the best day I've had in a long time -- felt like a vacation but it was actually "work".
