Truck race at the Rock

I'll say this then: It looked fine to the naked eye. No numbers involved, the crowd was fine.

We can debate the actual number, but we're not talking about a half empty facility. They put it on the schedule, and it visibly out-drew any of the non companion events from last year. That's a good sign. A sellout would have been great, but it's not like 10,000 people showed up.
If you want to see a dud of a comeback, check out the crowd at Milwaukee for IndyCar last year.

Sorry to have to say this James ,but I consider myself to be very good at estimating crowds , heck I do it every Thursday night at bingo , and I figure there were only 27,400 butts in the seats . I know there are some that will disagree , but I do have that bingo experience to back up my post. Let's just put this crowd estimating thing to rest ,once and for all.

Places like Chicagoland sell out regularly and hold a 75,000 seat capacity, while The Rock holds only 31,000, and there was only 25,000 there Sunday, thats estimated, to me looked more like 20,000 and thats pushing it. Yes, it's the trucks, but that's the reason Cup stopped going there.
The last Truck Series trip to Chicagoland had 30,000 in the stands and that's with Cup & Nationwide being there the same weekend. 25,000+ for a standalone Truck race @ Rockingham, not too bad IMO. I guess we'll all know when/if The Rock is awarded a renewed date.

IMO, the TV numbers will decide a second date more than how many are in the stands after break even.

If you think there were really 27,500 there you are more gullible than the rest here.

Arguing that 27,500 is a bad crowd, then arguing that there weren't 27,500 there is really bad form on your part. This is how the giant circles of confusion get started.

The bait is getting stale. ;) Not even a nibble on this?

lol Honestly, I expected even KB fans to agree and didn't try to bait anyone. Besides, I'm better at that then you give me credit for.

Example 1: "Kevin Harvick RULES the truck series unless Kasey shows up".

Example 2: "Kyle wrecked a dozen trucks before he finally got it. Kasey shows up and makes it look easy. What an amazing talent he is".

Yep until you put Kasey in a CAR.:D

:punkrocke 1.2 career average truck finish, damn Elliott Sadler at Pocono.

They did have late models there on Saturday :D

According to Nielsen Media Research, SPEED coverage of Sunday’s#NASCAR Truck race from Rockingham scored a .88 HH rating and peaked at 1.09.

Where HHs: The estimated number of television households in the U.S..

Translation.....

I don't have a clue.

I did find this however. It was the best I could do.

The rating system is very confusing. It's all about households and 18-49 year old share and your hair color and what type of beer you were drinking when you watched which program. It's a crazy mess.
So..... In a roundabout way, you are saying because I drink Bud, I don't count then? I just want to get this straight.

It depends, from what I can gather if you drink Bud you get counted. If you drink Coors Light you count as a 1/2 and if you drink heineken someone comes to your house and kicks you in the face.

I heard they kick you in the hiney.

Anyone who would put a hiney in their mouth is just plain sick. :D

Verizon FIOS has a button on the remote that shows what the most watched programs in your area are. The truck race had more viewers than the Nationals game.

Neilsen's ratings are very flawed because it uses it's own box, and makes estimates based on what the Nielsen families are watching. Ratings are nothing more than estimates.

For example. MSNBC has more viewers, almost every night (in our market) than FOX "News", but FOX supposedly gets four times as many viewers?

This is basically saying that the Truck race on SPEED didn't even get one million viewers nationwide Live+SD. I have a VERY hard time believing that.

I was wondering how I got this black eye...
