It requires quite a bit of confidence to go after a 22-year-old when you're 47. If it was a fair fight I'd say Nick would be the favorite.
If it was a sucker punch Matt should definitely get a penalty though.

I wonder who wrote that for Matt. Just to be completely honest about my thoughts on Matt Crafton, I think he is a card toting a**hole. To hear him tell it he has never done anything wrong on the track. I don't believe a word he wrote. JMHO

I sure hope so, he is and always has been a sorry SOB in my book. He always looks like he needs to shave and take a bath. To hear him tell it, he has never made a mistake on the track. He reminds me of Mike Skinner.

If you're a 47 year old racing in the modern day Truck Series, you have to expect stupid rookie mistakes. This isn't 15-20 years ago. This isn't a series filled with veterans any more.

I personally don't have any problem with the two having a fight, but IF the events unfolded they that it has been portrayed, then Crafton is a douche bag and deserves the criticism he is getting. I also think that if you want to hit someone, you just MIGHT want to at least hear their side of the story first.

How is hitting someone justifiable if you weren't hit first? Threatening words are just words and you don't hit someone unless you are hit first.

Well, that's why I said IF. So far, Crafton seems to be the only one offering his version of the truth, but that doesn't mean it isn't true. I would have to know more before I had a definitive opinion one way or another.

I get that, but sometimes when you are twice somebodies age, it might be best to just let them blather. A wise man once said when someone is making a fool of themself, stand back and let them.

No driver suspensions. Crafton fined $25K, Sanchez fined $5K and Sanchez’s dad suspended from the track for the rest of the season for throwing punches as a non-participant (per Elton Sawyer on TMD this morning).
Sawyer said Crafton had time to cool down but still went and threw punches. And Sanchez was fined for saying “I’m going to kill you.”
