You are pretty much in denial if you do not comprehend this. Same with Chase Elliott. As long as they are with teams giving them what they need, superstars both. I hope the Woods can catch up to Blaney and let him show his talent too....

The stats tell the story. JL is one of the premier drivers in the series, period.

Brad convincing Roger Penske to bring Joey on board was one of the greatest moves since Kyle Busch was brought into the Gibbs fold.

Joey owes Brad a lot. Say what you will about Joey, but he has rejuvenated his career and the stats prove he is one of the best drivers out there of late.

I see Logano as as guy who wants every position he can get especially at go time and as an owner or fan who wouldn't want a driver like that? The only downside I see is that a lot of drivers will use the same style when racing him and won't think twice about whether that style knocks the 22 car into the wall or the infield at any point in the race. I am not saying JLo should change his style at all but he shouldn't be the least bit surprised or upset if other drivers make contact with him and bad things happen as a result of it.

Yep I agree, race that way expect to be raced back that way....it will be interesting to see if Joey can stand up to it.

“I felt that if he got by me I wouldn’t have the opportunity to get back by him,” Logano said. “It’s the end of the race, I blocked him, and I get it. Early in the race, it’s not acceptable. At the end of the race, we’re racing for the win. I would do the same thing.”

Live by the sword.. Die by the sword.. Pretty sure he gets that.

Looking forward to the next decade as Joey, Brad, Kyle B., Kyle L. and Chase battle for NASCAR dominance. If NASCAR has any chance of growing again, it will be in the hands of those drivers, IMO.

Id throw Ryan Blaney and at least one of the Dillons in there too. It is going to be interesting.. In the next 5 years or so chances are a lot of big name drivers will see the end of their careers. Its going to be very different.. One thing will remain the same tho.. #TeamJL

As long as JLo is cool when his day is ended by another driver's aggressiveness all is good. I am not blaming JLo for this at all but won't mention names so as not to cause WW III but there are some drivers who feel they can do anything on track but go ape**** when someone even does something remotely close back to them.

Exactly.. But some ppl seem to forget that Joey can take it just as well as he can hand it out.. He fully expects to be raced the same way he races others and it works for him. As soon as he adopted his take no prisoners attitude and driving style he started running up front.. And barring incident finds his way into the top 5 or 10 every single week.

That incident was the first thing that popped into my mind. I remember thinking good for him, practicing what he preached.

At almost 32 I see Kyle as being just a baby age wise compared to me but I see him as being a long time vet as a driver. IDK how much of it I will be around to see but I am interested in seeing how the new crop of young drivers integrate and take over. I am particularly interested in Jones, Elliott and Blaney and am even more interested in seeing what Nascar even looks like.

I feel like it'll be between Joey and Kyle for the next big thing. It's odd to realize that the only multi championship winning driver in the field right now is Jimmie Johnson.

Joey is just another young kid that entered the top series and is whopping everyone's ass without "paying his dues" and the old guard cant handle it. Plain & simple.

If people have not got used to wealthy kids and ride buyers entering Nascar by now I don't think they ever will. I know many lament that the little guy has been squeezed out and I can certainly relate to those feelings but Nascar is a multi million dollar business and it takes a lot of money to get to the point where you can enter the series.

I find it funny that no one has similar feelings about Chase.. or even better Dale Jr. Only difference I see between Joey and Jr is that Joey's a better driver lol and ppl don't like when someone they don't like wins.

With Kyle being 32 this year and with JLo being 28 I see the next groundswell coming from the likes of Larson, Elliott and Jones. If JLo races 13 more years and wins 5 races each year he will end up with 80 and if Kyle can pull the same trick over the next 10 years he will have 88 and both of those would be very impressive. Of course 5 wins a year for an extended period is no given.

I could see Joey around for up to 20 more years and Kyle 15.. I think they can both get up in the top 10 all time wins. Way I see it if anyone can get somewhere between Stewart and Earnhardt they're hall of fame bound easy.

Also Joey will be turning 27.. doesn't make much of a difference but there's 5 years between the two

For sure as DEI was started so Junior could go racing and Dale would have something to do after he retired.

That is possible and it will be interesting to see as in the next year or 2 we may not even be able to count wins in the same way we do now. Nascar changes so often that it is anyone's guess what the series will look like and if things like 2 shorter races will be held with 2 different winners etc.

Also I think as the money exits the series we will see more drivers retire early like Carl Edwards as when you get a few years under your belt, have plenty of dough to live on in and the ability to be with your family....well....it can be really appealing.

Some drivers you love to hate, can't wait to see them get what's coming to them. With Logano, I just can't wait to change the channel when I see his face.....

That particular race in the linked article (Texas spring 2015) is not a good example of another driver being "aggressive" toward Logano. It was a case of Harvick having a "vendetta." I don't know what TV showed, but I had seats above pit exit, overlooking turn 1. Harvick was into the 22 many times throughout the race, including rear bumper on corner entry, and targeting the 22 quarter panel several times. It was flat out dirty driving.

More to the point, I have not seen Logano complain about being raced aggressively. Certainly not in the last five years or so.

To your other point... I think the market for kerosene soaked rags has declined a bit with recent retirements, but is still a sizable market...:D

His move to Penske changed everything for him. Joey and Brad are aggressive drivers. Other drivers will race them the way they race others and hopefully they won't whine about it when they come out on the wrong side of an incident.

According to most here there is no such thing as "dirty driving". Punting the car in front of you is completely acceptable. Doesn't matter what track/speed/risk for injury. Just get in the LR and spin them out. They shouldn't have been there to start with...bull****. Never liked it when everyone's hero Dale Sr did it, don't like it now. Getting someone aero loose is one thing. STAY> OFF> BUMPER> QUARTER PANEL. Loved watching guys race back-in-the-day when they had some respect for others. But this generation doesn't have any respect for anybody or anything. Bump-n-run has turned into crash and run. You wreck me you get a punch in the throat.

NO pretty sure he doesn't get it....that's my point!

I'd take Jr over Joey any day, at least Jr "gets it"

You are spot on.

Sure Joey is a hell of a driver, and one of the best in our sport right now, but I think some in this thread don't understand what Superstar Status is. In honestly it has nothing to do with stats unfortunately. Superstar Status has more to do with someone who can transcend the sport itself. Gordon and Earnhardt(s) were Superstars. Petty, was this sports Superstar, and yes even Danica is this sport's superstar. I think Johnson is there, but barely. Stewart was probably a superstar. Logano, Busches, Harvick, and not so much. Sure they are champions and winners of our sport, but they aren't Superstar status. They aren't known to millions of non-nascar fans, they aren't in pop culture references. To me that is Superstar status. I am just not sure I see Logano getting there. Maybe if he does get multiple championships, but he has been big time in our sport for at least 5 years now and he isn't. Same with the other guys I mentioned along side him. Who knows, maybe our sport wont see another Superstar driver, but if we do I think guys like Elliot and Larson have a better shot at it.
