USA Today is Trash

This guy is about as qualified to write an article about NASCAR as I am to write an article about astrophysics.
if you are that half assed that you can't spell Jones and Suarez correct. .journalist? Oh heck yeah got to be making the big bucks.

Larson is about as rags to riches as you can get in today's racing. hope he sues that sorry s.o.b.

Lmfao:

Lolololol

And the author himself.

I get it, but poor delivery.

The rivalry arguement is tired as hell.

Pro tip for Shawn: know your audience & do your homework. Yes, NASCAR drivers & fans are literate.

The press is the only occupation other than the weather man that can be totally incorrect and/or libelous, fail to aplogize, and still have a name tag the following morning. **** em

Plaintive wails?

Some racing people spoke out against this guy's editorializing. Anybody who doesn't understand who and what Kyle Larson is should not be sounding off in this manner. Heaven forbid that people who do understand have something to say.

I love the way he has got the natives full of angst and anger though.......:D

This guy got massacred on social media today. Apparently, it was his first time going to a race in 10 or 15 years or something.

He also said "beer pong a 12 pack.."

I don't think he's had a drink in 10 or 15 years.

But yeah, insane that guy had a soapbox to stand on. It's no wonder he had a decade-old narrative.

I find the whole thing terribly funny as we have the wounded fans, drivers and former drivers and a publication that sends someone to a race who would of rather had a tooth extracted with vise grips. The greater problem is going unnoticed.

Bad press is better than no press.

Shawns gonna get a raise

That is just one of the knee slapping aspects of this whole affair as the more angry people get the more attention this receives and the better off the person the people are mad at is.

Kenny Wallace and Clint Bowyer have been really funny. If this is what the twitter universe is like even some of the time I am glad this twit doesn't tweet.

I have enough issues with being followed around I don't want to invite more minions.

Nate Ryan use to be the main USA Todays Nascar guy. Think he has been gone a couple years.
Here is his tweet. Not sure I quite follow though. I think its sarcasm.

USA Today allows this guy to write for them... good to know. First line of the page is addressing his misspelling of three different people...how the hell do you write for such a name as "USA Today"?..

Let's have another journalist write about how USA Today apparently will let anyone write for them... can't spell correctly?.. it's ok,we have a paycheck waiting for you.

Gotcha. I agree that his take on drivers and personalities sounded made up or imagined. IDK what people mean by rivalries either as Kyle Busch is a rival to many as is BKez, JLo, Harvick and Johnson. There is a rivalry between Elliott and Blaney plus Jones and Suarez so I don't understand what the writer is asking for.
When did all these start lol?? Please tell me.. I want to know!

Umm so I'm trying to figure out what's wrong with what he wrote?? Why is everybody acting so shocked at what he said? A lot of it is true, like I been saying these guys are robots with no personalities and everybody is to damn buddy buddy, people are scared to race there buddy hard because they don't want to mess there race up and have there buddy mad at them after the race lol.. it's no rivalries.. the guy that takes his job serious and wants to win more than anyone (Kyle Busch) y'all talk junk about him! Because he wines and cries but he is the only one that shows emotion .. i get what he was saying about these drivers crossing over and being a figure outside of NASCAR and he was right who really has that personality to do it like Gordon?? He is right you just don't see the passion before and after races man.. I guess these guys are making to much money nobody seems hungry.

It's a two edged sword. Everybody wants a quote. Everybody wants a story. When a driver or any athlete gives them one, they crucify the guy, put words in his mouth, etc. This is why Bill Belichick never says squat and is a complete drone. He gets it. Guys are hip to this, they measure everything they say. They don't want to get crippled in the press. There is enough emotion to make it interesting and fun if people read between the lines, watch the races, and just sit back and enjoy it. Plus you're talking about guys this year who haven't won a lot and are not living on their reputation. Let them do it their way.

Belichick plays games man and if you fall for that stuff u crazy lol.. he knows exactly what he is doing.. you don't ever hear him say the wrong words on purpose acting like he doesn't know what's going on in the world smh. Come on dude lol, this guy knows what he is doing .. he called snap chat snap talk and face time like face look or something , it's all for attention smh..anyways let's go through new drivers.. Chase Elliot I never seen him smile .. Ryan blaney .. always seems so mad, and always give short answers.. Kyle Larson even though he wins. He seems so shy just like his father said on tv he needs to come out of his shell .. omg don't get me started on chris buescher, dude is super scared to be in front of camera I just feel so bad for him.. I mean they just don't have any personality.. I love the sport but they just don't do it.. you know who be good for the sport if they could win more is aj allmendinger he has a great personality but he never gets any shine!

Elliott is yet to win. Not smiling is understandable given his big hype and inability to cash. We had Stenny, Blaney, and Larson (x2) who are guys who have five wins amongst them. They are who they are. It's a different generation. I loved Gordon's swagger but that was Gordon. You can't make a mule win the KY Derby. You can't make a guy colorful on camera if he's not. These guys are doing it their own way. You still have KyBu who is always going to play the heel, you have Logano who everybody loves to hate, same with Harv, and any number of others. There is enough there to keep my interest. If there is not enough there for you, that's fine, I don't share that opinion.

My gripe is not with you, but with writers who don't have the insight to understand the whole deal. It's not a simple equation and some young driver not giving a writer a story is not enough to make me angry at that driver. I've seen enough writers who are just there to gin up a story to know better. I'd love to ask that writer how many career wins Stenhouse has. My beef is that guys who write stories like this may make a good point but generally don't know WTF they're talking about. It's already been demonstrated he couldn't spell the drivers' names.

I feel where your coming from.. and yes it's a couple guys out there lol .. but wouldn't you just like to see more out of these guys?? Just that lil extra that has me turning off my TV like omg these guys want it! I can't wait to see what happens next.. I just don't ever get that..but you made good points and I understand where your coming from

I would. Fans just have to let it play out. Next week could be the genesis of the next Rusty Wallace feud with somebody. If not, it's still good competition. Maybe the next Jimmy Spencer or even DW....man I thought he was obnoxious back in the day.

You need to listen to Blaney's podcast, or watch his post race conference from Pocono.... he acts just like his dad otherwise. Elliott and Larson are a bit reserved but they do a hell of a lot of talking with their driving.

Speaking of driving... here is a revolutionary idea. How about getting over the WWE schtick, begging for fake story lines, and start embracing badassed wheelmanship for what it is.

Folks forgot why they like this ****, smh

It appears the article got the attention and reaction it was looking for by the look of the heated debate it created here.

I dont give a **** what anybody says about Larson. He's a tremendous driver and that is plenty obvious.

I dont need a jackass writer telling me what Larson is or isn't when he doesn't follow him beyond 1 week.

I'm not saying I want a fight every week or fake story lines.. I'm just saying I wish it was more passion or rivalries..

Larson is a student of the sport, he is learning at a fast pace and is not in the least bit intimidated by any other driver. From what I have seen he drives it like he stole it from the drop of the green flag. He is a clean racer and is gaining respect for that, as he should. As I have said before when Matt retires I will definitely be a fan of Larson, the boy just has what it takes. He is a racers racer, he won a WOO race on Tuesday then on Sunday won the cup race and said in the interview after his win he was going to race another WOO race that night, but, it was cancelled, how can you not appreciate the drive of this guy.

The guy that wrote the article, I read it, seems to have written down plain ole blah blah blah to get a paycheck, nothing more, useless article, IMHO.

Yep. Apparently there are a boatload of people who allow others to do their thinking for them and accept what they read as the truth without checking out for themselves. I'm with you.

You do ? Like who so I can watch out for them..

I would just keep watching and maybe it will become apparent to you and if not that is cool too. In years past when there were rivalries how did they manifest themselves on and off the track on a weekly basis?
