@DUN24 we saw this on the road in Texas also. Is this one like yours?

That's really not a bad fuel bill for that many miles of towing. Probably 850-900 gallons or so? Or about 30-35 fillups. Our trip was 31 day's long 7,928.8 miles traveled and $2,912.08 spent on gas. We traveled through 11 states twice for a total of 22 States. The most expensive gas was a tie at $5.00 a gallon outside of Las Vegas and $4.99 a gallon in Centerville CA. Too many grins to count, surely several million.
You're close. It was 42 stops, 883 gallons, a 21 gallon average stop at an average of $3.30 a gallon. I have a 32 gallon tank but while traveling, especially in the desert and /or mountains, I stop between a 1/4 and a 1/2 a tank. And you're also right about the total cost, it was less than I thought that it would be.That's really not a bad fuel bill for that many miles of towing. Probably 850-900 gallons or so? There were no warning signs. I kept my eyes on the road as much as possible on such a great trip. And yes we had a blast. It was spaced just right to avoid sensory overload. That rock hanging over the roadway, were there warning signs of the height and people hitting it because they missed the signage or were not paying attention?
No problems at all with the truck. Just the brake check that I talked about earlier and I noticed that the two rear tires and one trailer tire was wearing a little more than I liked so I had them replaced. The truck averaged about 9.5-10 mpg pulling the trailer which is what I expected with all of the mountains and high altitudes.Planning for next year? And here I am trying to work out details for our Christmas Golf Cart Parade and celebration in December.
Did the Ram perform well for you with no known deficiencies.
I my 2013 Ram. It replaced the older Chevy I had and decided to sell after I got run off the road and did not have collision coverage. No damage to the vehicle but it scared the crap out of me and made me think I was driving a fairly expensive piece of equipment with no air bags and that was the catalyst to sell. The Ram had 30,000 mis. and not a scratch on it, the interior like new. It rides better than my Bride's suv. I get between 16 and 18 outside the city limits and 15 to 16 in town. Haven't pulled anything but like the idea they put that setup on the truck when manufactured.
My Bride is a farm girl who learned how to drive on a CJ-2 and has no quarrel with driving my pickup. Even she says it rides super and likes to travel in it.
Our Duramax averages about that on the highway, but we have alot more weight and drag than you do. But for an annual trip, what you have is perfect. No problems at all with the truck. Which Transforce do you use? H/T or HT2 ? I just looked them up and I'm impressed. Our Duramax averages about that on the highway, but we have alot more weight and drag than you do. But for an annual trip, what you have is perfect.
We have Firestone Transforce tires on all 5 axles. 12 tires is an expensive bill, but they will last a long time, especially since the trailer is kept inside. The truck tires will dry-rot before we wear the tread off.
I think the HT2 but I could be wrong.Which Transforce do you use? H/T or HT2 ? I just looked them up and I'm impressed.
Thanks, I'm going to look into them.I think the HT2 but I could be wrong.
What alot of folks do here is run them for 2-3 years (but relatively low miles), then sell them to somebody with a 1/2 ton truck for half the new price.
I've already started working on next years Vacation. If you don't start really early you wont get the good reservations if any. It's just a preliminary layout and It'll be changed several times but ya gotta start somewhere. We'll start with the Kansas race and work from there. It's taken many years but this trip will cap off the lower 48. If it's something that interests us It's been checked off of the list.Great pics @Johali . Glad you had a great trip.

The Olympic National Park near Port Angeles. We may add a trip across the Strait to Victoria and play tourist for a day or so. No need getting that close and not looking it over.Nice. What's the furthest NW you get....Seattle?
