I'm surprised they both didn't crash. All kinds of squirrelly in that run.
When researching their book on Don Garlits, Mickey Bryant and Todd Hutcheson chased down and located Tim Ditt. Tim was just 17 when he sat in the stands at Lion’s Drag Strip in Wilmington, CA, on March 8, 1970. During a run, the transmission on Big Daddy’s Swamp Rat 13 exploded and the drum rocketed through the air and struck Ditt in the chest and arm. He was horribly injured and went through years of painful physical – and financial – recovery. This is a shot of Tim and his family in 1981. His left arm still showed graphic evidence of the impact. From Don Garlits R.E.D. Part 1, by Mickey Bryant and Todd Hutcheson. (Ditt Family Photo)
Amazing what you find when you're not looking for it. Of course we all remember that incident.

How about a little history of Bob Senneker.
always fun to guess what year the photo was taken, I would say it was taken in 1963 by the 63 blue Impala behind the trunk of the 55 or 6,
I was thinking 64 because of the grill on the Ford Pickup.
End of an era. David Pearson loses 2 tires coming out of the pits at Darlington.
Greg - Do you know the name of the driver in the winners circle?
Nope, just a Google image I found. I really. those old Chevy II or Nova race cards.
Ok - Thanks. His car is from my home town. I have probably seen him
race at my dirt track back in the late 70's or early 80's. Looks like
he was in the circle at an asphalt track.
