What kind of car do you drive?

yes it gets dirty.

I hope it doesn’t get stuck in the mud. You don’t have a big, ugly handle on the front that someone with a Chevy Truck can hook to and drag you out of the mud. You also don’t have the ridiculous smirking grille and headlight cover that so many people think is cool, even though it looks like crap.

Fun thread....I hope the guy from page one with the Buick GN still has it...

In order-
72 Chevy Kingswood SW, grandfather’s old car, rear was in its own zip code. Had dreams of yanking out a 454 and putting that into something better. Imagine my horror when I opened the hood.....looked around for a bit, and noticed it only had 350 2bbl.

71 Le Mans sport vert, quite rusty and slow, but a shift kit made it seem so much faster.

70 Firebird “converted” to a Formula. Built an engine for it, was pretty fast, but had I known then what I do now...I probably would have lived past 25.

77 280Z, mom old car, drove after selling the Bird for about 6 months or so.

87 Escort GT. Loved that one. Had a burned valve so I bought a reman head, dingleberry’d the block, etc etc and drove the piss out of it. I’d get close to 40 mpg on the highway if stayed steady on the pedal.

70 GTO hardtop, project, still have it.

1987 MB 190 2.6 sweet ride with a decent amount of get up and go. Also the car that made me fall in love with German engineering.

97 M3 lux, 2dr, 5 speed. Love this, will continue to drive it until the wheels fall off. So much fun, even with its E36 inherent and designed quirks.

69 GTO vert. Drove for a while and went to change the fuel pump and timing chain....that’s when I discovered crankshaft end play was ohhh, about a quarter inch. Someone didn’t know what maimthe thrust bearing went on a Pontiac. Still have it.

2000 Lincoln LS V6. Got it with 20k miles in 2012. Still have it.

needless to say...nascar fandom didn’t influence my choice in vehicle, and vice versa. Initially a Cale Y fanboi, then Elliot in the 80s, that Tbird was just so cool. Then Sr in the 90s, Jr. after him, now wagon is hitched to Blaney.

18 Toyota Tacoma-It’s all the truck I need for now. Will look hard at the GMC next time but HARD to beat resale.

Wife has a 17 Grand Cherokee. I love this vehicle. Beautiful when clean and makes me feel so confident in her safety with her driving it in the winter. But being a Jeep I’m not to comfortable with it’s reliability. 45k on it now with no issues but I just don’t trust it.....

What trim of Tacoma? I’d like to get a Mustang and make my 2011 GMC Sierra a backup vehicle but part of me wants a TRD Tacoma or the new GMC Canyon

19 Toyota Tundra. Got it mainly due to reliability but the spacious back seat in the crew cab was very beneficial in making my decision since it often is used as a bus to haul my grandchildren around.

Off Road. It comes with a terrain selection which I've not had to use but hear good things about, especially the Crawl feature. I routinely travel to oil and gas sites (before COVID) so I can run into almost anything (snow, ice, mud, or combination of all 3). My 2 ONLY complaints are 1) engine-transmission combo. On interstate it is ALWAYS shifting. In WV we have no flat areas so every incline is a downshift out of OD. And fuel mileage. I had an F-150 prior to with the 5 litre that did as good as this thing. Toyota is getting their ass's kicked in engine lineup by Ford especially with mileage. While this truck is cheaper to maintain where I thought I would get an advantage is fuel mileage. And I do everything I can to maximize MPG. Its like a game to me.
GMC beats it in reviews but can't beat it in resale and probably reliability but that gap has closed a lot.

Recently got my dream car: 2018 BMW M3 with competition package. Poor guy traded it in on (@Revman will LOVE this) a new Camry because his wife wanted to buy a house and start a family. Only 25k miles on it. Love the incognito nature of it. If you know what it is, great. Otherwise you just think I’m an ahole in a 3 series. My wife drives a Wrangler Rubicon, so we have all bases covered. ;)

Smart man....Hope he went with the TRD Edition.
Doubtful. Sales manager said guy was in tears signing the papers. I think they did have a TRD edition in the showroom.

Edit: I recall it seeming too big to be the Camry TRD, though. Do they make a TRD Avalon? (Is the Avalon even still made?)

Yup, TRD Avalon.

My wife and I drive a 2006 Impala as the family car and I have a 2006
Silverado 4x4 for extra activities and it also has a snow plow on it for winter.
Neither vehicle are my dream machine but everything is in top shape and paid for.
NOT owing money is my priority, makes for a stress free life.

I picked this up on Wednesday.....

'85 GMC K10 short bed. 350 with a Holley 600, 4-speed manual (SM465) trans, NP208 transfer case, 3/4 ton axles. Runs and drives great, very clean, no rust, recent repaint.

I've been wanting a squarebody pickup for many years, and the prices keep going up. I figured I need to get one now while I can still afford one, and this truck checks all the boxes. I'm VERY happy with it! I think this one is a keeper

Both my trucks, side by side.....

I recently moved into an apartment (going through a divorce and gave up the house) and luckily I managed to squeeze the GMC into the apartment garage, along with all my tools and other garage stuff....

I recently got a new job and now have a company provided car, which is currently a 2018 Ford Focus hatchback. No pictures, because it sucks and I don't like it. The company will be replacing it with a brand new Chevrolet Trax soon, and I'm not thrilled about that either. But it's basically a free car so I'm not going to complain too much!

SRT Challenger. Generally speaking, you can generally get a deal on any Challenger with a manual transmission. Most everyone wants the automatic. Love the six speed.

Beautiful truck! That's my favorite generation of Ford pickup, especially that style front end. Looks like a nice truck!
Yeah, by the accessories the previous owner(s) installed, it looks like the truck was taken care of.

5.3 L. When I ordered it they couldn't even give me an anticipated delivery on a 6.2L. Everything I heard was 4 months, then they ran into valve spring issues with the 6.2L. Took 8 weeks for delivery for mine

The trailboss and the GMC AT-4 are the best looking trucks on the market in my opinion. The active fuel management in the 5.3L makes me a little nervous though.

Depending on the new Tundra launch later this year, I may look at these really closely pretty soon.

Here is my truck. 2019 Tundra.

The new ones are what they call dynamic fuel management, which is kinda the same thing just that it only runs however many cylinders are needed instead of 4, 6 or 8. After I get a could of miles on it I plan on deactivating the DFM

I looked at the Tundra and everything said "Gas Guzzler"
At over $6 per US gallon it just wasn't right for me.
