Who do you think will take over the No. 4 in 2024?

Hasn't rodney specified he wants to retire with Kevin?

No, in fact on NASCAR Radio he indicated that we wanted (needed) to continue, but only with somebody capable of winning championships right away.

Had all this come out 6 months ago he could have had Kyle Busch to think about

Zane Smith is making his name known. He's in the fold at Ford, in their development program. Two seconds and a first in the Trucks in 3 years and a win at the Daytona road course in sports cars. SHR is bound to be looking at him this year.

100% on the SHR piece. Kid is fast.

The more I have been thinking about this he seems more and more likely to be a leading candidate. If not in the #4 for the #10 in a year or so whenever Aric decides he's going to retire again

Custer if he has a great year in Xfinity? Does he have to win the title to move back? Or just lots of races?

If he tanks this year, who's in the 4 or did I miss it?

To me the front runners are Zane and Eric Jones. Because he just won the 500 I think his stock is probably a little more inflated than it truly is so I'd have to throw Ricky into it as well.

Isn't Jones still under contract with Legacy next year? Is SHR really even a better team than Legacy?

I think Preece will move to the 4 car, and Custer will take over the 41 again. Or possibly Mike Harmon, if he can just slide back out of it..

Unless she shows incredible improvement, I highly doubt Deegan. Even if she did she'd need to do some Xfinity to prove it.
As @StandOnIt likes to remind everyone, her results literally do not matter.

Ford is mortgaging the metaphorical house on her being a superstar regardless of performance.

Is Ford going to be the biggest sponsor on the 4 car then?
Highly doubtful. What whistle britches failed to realize is that Zane Smith is also a Ford development driver like Deegan and Smith would be the obvious choice if SHR and Ford and Front Row AND Smith wanted to go that direction.
I wouldn't be surprised if SHR plucked a driver out of the dirt ranks myself.

Christopher Bell maybe. With Joe Gibbs not wanting him to do dirt racing, I could see Tony telling him he could do stuff like the Chilli Bowl and whatever else he wanted as long as it didn’t interfere with his Cup duties to get him to jump. Pretty sure his contract last til the end of the season.

Bell signed a “long term contract” last year.
Zane Smith is also on a pretty lengthy contract with Front Row Motorsports.

Who knows what happens with Erik Jones and Legacy? They might become a contender.

Another failed Danica Patrick experiment.
Danica was better, and more popular. Which is what makes this entire experiment so mind-boggling.

Hailie Deegan was supposed to be the anti-Danica, the badass racer who wins races and focuses solely on that instead of being a model. And here we are.

A lot of people who think Hailie Deegan's going to single-handedly bring this sport to mainstream popularity again forget that Danica Patrick was literally a household name. Literally everyone knew who she was. And most still do. Hailie Deegan has a very small fraction of Danica's following.

Social media followers is such a deceiving stat. There are people on TikTok exponentially more popular than Hailie that I bet 99.9% of this forum has never heard of.

Regardless, people within this sport are completely sold on Hailie Deegan's looks, marketing ability, and think she's going to win races.

Head to head in a racecar Danica beats Hailie.
Maybe Danica should focus on her social media persona. 🫢
