Who is the better driver

The fact is...... Kyle and everyone else got their a@@ handed to them on both points and the last win..... To me...... that makes Truex the best driver this year.... he had a stellar year..... why not just give credit where credit is due? No need to get butthurt over your annointed one to get beat fair and square.... this is reminding me more and more of a certain Presidential election.... just get over it and move on.........

You were defending Kyle's loss with your statement about Joey, nuff said.

............ but I will say IMO Kyle is the better driver, again.

Not clear to you that if Joey doesn't screw with Kyle, Kyle wins? I mean, I thought everybody understood that.

to answer the original question, right now, Truex. he won the last race, and the title. over the long haul, who will win the most races and titles? i'd give a nod to Kyle. but, as my buddy bubba says, "not knowin', it's hard to say".

The last two years? Truex 12 wins regular season and overall season winner and cup champion. Kyle? 9

Kyle has always been mad fast, but Truex showed plenty of speed in Michael Waltrip's stuff. I think they're pretty equal. I can tell you who the best restrictor plate driver is, and he drives a Ford.

Truex's success this year was limited almost exclusively to 1.5-mile tracks.

Really? I guess Truex leading 100+ laps at many short tracks (Bristol, Dover, New Hampshire I & II, Richmond II), winning stages, and winning at Watkins Glen this year doesn't matter.

Dover and New Hampshire aren't short tracks.

Okay well he absolutely dominated the Richmond race and pretty much got screwed over, won a stage at Martinsville & Bristol in the spring, 2nd at Martinsville in the playoffs. I wouldn't say that's not doing well.

We've been through this once before. Johnson's won plenty of races at short tracks and superspeedways and even a road course. Truex's success this year was limited almost exclusively to 1.5-mile tracks.
The Champion was not determined by how many wins you had on short tracks, super speedways or road courses. The Chase was mostly 1.5 milers and JJ excelled at them. Thus he was the champion. What is so hard about admitting the truth of the matter? It was what it was.

I think the point was that JJ dominated on all types of tracks through out his career.

Vegas
Martinsville
Dover
Phoenix
Texas
Etc.

Yes, the mile and a halfs benefited him in the chase but he was so good for so long everywhere that it's really difficult to say his success was dependent exclusively on mile and a halfs.

He's the best mile and a halfer in the history of the sport, yes. But those make up like 2/5 of his career wins. They were just better than everyone. Period. For that period of time, JJ was the best driver with the best cars setup by the best crew chief in different point systems.

Kyle is more talented.

Truex held him off, took his line, and out drove him at the end. It happens. Talent doesnt always win.

Mentality, confidence, intangibles, and standard deviation all are relevant in how athletes perform. Kyle was the more talented driver with a faster car, but he couldn't beat Truex. Truex drove a better final 20 laps.

Usain Bolt was beat by Yohan Blake, Bolt was still in his prime and more talented when it happens. Sometimes, you just get beat, even if you are better.

That is what happened to Kyle. TheGeneral123, Revman and or whoever else doesn't accept it, move on. It is how it is. Truex did a better job. Kyle is more talented, but the less talented driver out executed the more talented driver. Its sports. It happens. They're human beings. It happens. Accept it, and stop being marders thinking people are hating on Kyle.

Kyle getting outdriven by Truex doesn't reflect inferior talent. IT..JUST..HAPPENS sometimes in sports. Kyle Busch fans and Hulk fans are very similar in their investments.

Johnson's weak spot is road racing only one win. I don't think he is too happy about the roval instead of the oval at Charlotte if I had to guess.

Wouldn't it be a better comparison with Danica? They both seem to have a time during each month where they are overly sensitive.

My point was a driver could win every race for the first 26 races and it mattered not. JJ won his championships because of the last 10 races PERIOD

Anybody who thinks JJ record transcends Rusty Wallace's short track prowess are seriously deluding themselves. While he have more wins at Martinsville, nobody can tell me he was a better short track driver than Rusty.
