Why Does Martin Truex Get So Much Hate On Here?

I notice in the race threads that users here hate on him every week and I don't get it.I mean I never have any problem with Truex I mean he not one of my favs but does not do anything to get the hate he gets on here.

I have no clue how anyone could hate on Martin :idunno:

Its not even that ... I met him at Phoenix and he is about the nicest dude I ever met and seems easy going on the track. folks will find something bad though
 
I........ for one am really glad that Martin is doing so well..... I was afraid when he took the ride over from Kurt that he would fall on his face..... I think he got screwed big time at MWR....... none of his doing.... Kurt Busch showed so well at Furniture Row..... he brought them into the spotlight..... Martin has continued to keep them up front...... Kudos to him and that team...... I am really proud of everything they have accomplished.......
 
Far from a hater, I have a good track buddy who has been on the Truex bandwagon for years and I root for him for that reason. Wife is "sick of him" as she describes it, which goes to the points made by Aunty D and Kiante. I don't have the energy to hate any of them anymore, I just enjoy it and let it be. There's room for all the personalities in the sport.
 
Oh and doing deals with Toyota is like dancing with the devil...

Barney Visser knew what he was doing, RCR << JGR.

I assumed that only spread to KBM drivers. Erik Jones and William Bryon being the main culprits.

But you're probably right. Kyle and Martin were spotted shooting the bull and laughing in the line for driver intros. They both must be in Al Qaeda.

We should all be hatin' on this guy too...

- Enlisted in the Army.
- Vietnam veteran (paratrooper).
- Self-made millionaire.
- Racin' on Memorial Day, and doing it his own way.

Maybe because the team excels in finding ways to snatch defeat from otherwise certain victory?

Me, I like the guy. I think hanging out with him and Bowyer would be a stone cold hoot.

I give Barney a whole lot of credit........ he has done a very excellent job in keeping a startup team functioning...... something that hasn't been accomplished in several years....
 
I don't see it as hating just because they like seeing him lose. I for one am a fan of his, but anyone who isn't a fan I'm sure has a good reason.(some of the reasons I've seen gave before seem like legit reasons.)

No question that the 4 and 78 drivers and teams have left a lot on the table in the past few years.
 
Toyotas are the blandest cars on the market, combine that with a bland team and a bland driver that has the bland 1.5ers figured out. You get the point, not much to get excited about. Truex is just another guy with an above average crew, that can then jump everyone on the restarts and check out.

So basically they have figured out how to win races ?
 
He comes off as a smug bastard, IMO. Also couldn't stand that constant sob story of how he's such an unfortunate guy. Also wasn't a fan of how he "fired" his crew at Richmond a few seasons back. I get that it's a professional sport, but his demeanor at that moment left a bad taste in my mouth.

Of course, I'm sure he's a swell guy, just like any person that I only know through the media. But I gotta root against somebody, right?
