I never watched it until Caitlin arrived.Who would’ve ever thought a thread about the WNBA would reach 36 pages in just over seven months?
Caitlin Clark Effect.

Me too. I am glad CC came across my radar the last half of her senior year at Iowa.I never watched it until Caitlin arrived.
I never watched it until Caitlin arrived.
That said, Marina will always be my favorite spicy messy bun.
This isn't a competition between them or anybody else I like, but nope, I got it right. I didn't know Lexie existed until Marina brought me here and I then saw a Fever game or two.You misspelled Lexie.

All right, Andrew, we might as well set the ground rules now. If I'm gonna continue to be in The Church with you, then dang it, you're gonna show me some respect like I've been showing you since I joined up. I'm here. You're not gonna shame and rib me for how I got here, for other players I happen to like, or anything else. In turn, I'm not gonna bicker with you guys over every little negative thing that happens to Caitlin. It's all good. Certain players brought people here. Marina brought you here. Caitlin Clark brought the rest of America here.
What are the wildcard spots about? Mystery/rotating teammates? Open spots?
Agreed. I’d love to see her in it but right decision.Smart decision IMO. She doesn't need the money or the fatigue. She needs to rest.
Clark won't play in Unrivaled league, source says
Fever star Caitlin Clark will not play in the new 3-on-3 league Unrivaled in its inaugural season, a source with knowledge of the situation told ESPN on Wednesday.www.espn.com
Yeah, Caitlin can do it next season if she wants, assuming that it ends up being a success and there will be a second season.Agreed. I’d love to see her in it but right decision.
Besides we got Lexie, Aayliah, Kate, and Marina in Unrivaled.

I might actually give Unrivaled a chance depending on how the games will be structured. We don't know much yet, just that the broadcasts of each game will be an hour long, and they're gonna play on a smaller full court, not a half court like in Olympic 3x3.
No word on how long the shot clock will be, just that it will exist, along with a game clock. If it's like Olympic 3x3, with a 12-second shot clock or whatever it was and no stoppages between made baskets, you can count me out.
Like I alluded to earlier, I'm here for all of them, but not to just watch them get gassed. No thank you. I got gassed just watching the 3x3 game during the 2024 All-Star festivities.I’m just here for Lexie.
She turned me into a fan of hers, as did Aayliah Boston and Kelsey Mitchell.
I didn’t watch any of the Olympic 3x3. I heard it isn’t good though. If TNT is limiting the games to one hour windows, that might help, especially if they have an intermission period.Like I alluded to earlier, I'm here for all of them, but not to just watch them get gassed. No thank you. I got gassed just watching the 3x3 game during the 2024 All-Star festivities.
Like I said earlier, Olympic 3x3 is just way too frantic and fast-paced for me. A 12-second shot clock and no stoppages after made baskets, only if the ball goes out of bounds or a foul is committed or something. I'm sure the players enjoy it, or they wouldn't be doing it, but ehh, that doesn't work for me, brother. The one game I saw during All-Star weekend was enough.I didn’t watch any of the Olympic 3x3. I heard it isn’t good though.
Honestly, I only watched the finals in the Women’s Basketball tournament anyway. The lack of a certain player’s presence caused my interest to be severely limited.
The Athletic (New York Times) reporter/insider Sabreena Merchant is speculating that Paige Bueckers may not enter the WNBA Draft and could just go Unrivaled if the league survives its rookie season. Of note, Merchant is not the first one to make these kind of statements. Been quite a bit of noise about Bueckers not wanting to play in Dallas. Others have reported that Bueckers wants to play for Los Angeles.
Paige does have sixth year eligibility because of COVID and past knee injuries, so she could in fact stay in college next year too if she wanted to.
Selfishness? I haven't ever heard anything about this. Can you elaborate? If the rumors about her selfishness are true then I hope they leave her unprotected.
Heard rumors that she's unhappy with playing time and touches. No idea how legit the rumors are.Selfishness? I haven't ever heard anything about this. Can you elaborate?
Just looked it up and confirmed that NaLyssa is under contract with Indiana through next season. I don't know how she feels about Indiana right now, but if I was her, even if I was previously unhappy, I'd at least be willing to take my chances with Coach White and stick it out for another year, as long as Indiana would have me (that's obviously the thing, whether she stays or goes may not even be up to her). They're gonna have a whole different system going on. Might as well see how it shakes out.Heard rumors that she's unhappy with playing time and touches. No idea how legit the rumors are.
Yes, but if she is unprotected in the expansion draft she will be gone. It's probably not a coincidence that her post was made the same day the teams submitted their list of protected players.Just looked it up and confirmed that NaLyssa is under contract with Indiana through next season.
Right, like I said later in that post, whether she stays or goes may not ultimately be up to her.Yes, but if she is unprotected in the expansion draft she will be gone. It's probably not a coincidence that her post was made the same day the teams submitted their list of protected players.
There's a good, broader discussion in that piece about player salaries, how they're so low compared to NBA salaries, and what it will take for them to increase. People often bring up Caitlin's and other stars' salaries, often in an attempt to knock them, but as the article points out, stars like her, Angel, etc. are doing quite well for themselves financially in spite of that thanks to their endorsements. A lot of other players can't say the same, and not because they lack talent.Caitlin Clark generated $36 MILLION (!!!) in revenue for the City of Indianapolis.
A number so staggering that associate professor of finance at Indiana University Columbus Dr. Ryan Brewer thought he made a mistake when he calculated the numbers.
Clarkonomics: Dissecting the complexity of paying Caitlin Clark what she's really worth
Clark is responsible for 26.5% of WNBA activity - attendance, merchandise sales and TV. "The numbers are so staggering. They don't even seem real."www.indystar.com
I’m so happy for Kate Money Martin.Yo, the Valkyries made some good picks. I'm surprised that the Liberty didn't protect Kayla Thornton, who was basically a sixth starter for them. Guess they protected Leonie Fiebich instead? I dunno. As deep as their roster is, they were going to lose someone good regardless.
I'm loving Veronica Burton and Julie Vanloo at the PG spot. Never seen Carla Leite play, but I hear that she can ball. Steph Talbot, Monique Billings, and Ceci Zandalasini are good pickups, too.
I really like this roster on paper. They're gonna be scrappy. Let's go!
