Dude, she's actually gonna get to play. I'm happy for all of these ladies for that reason. This is a big opportunity for them.

I'll be following the Valkyries for sure, even if it means I end up following four teams. I don't care. I'll make it work.
 
The Sun have a new head coach and GM, Rachid Meziane and Morgan Tuck, respectively. Rachid is a successful international/European coach. Morgan, who played for for the Sun and won a championship with the Storm, has been promoted from assistant GM.

And The W still woulnd't be mainstream if not for Caitlin Clark.

She brought a ton of eyeballs to the sport, which has been good for the entire league. Hell, because Caitlin Clark brought me here, I've found myself truly enjoying the women's game a lot more than the men's game. I hated basketball until I watched Caitlin play.

The only names I knew before I started watching this were Britney Griner and Sabrina Ionescu.

Like I've said before, the W has been on a steady upswing since COVID and has exploded with the arrival of Caitlin and Angel. New folks generally show up for one of those two and then learn of other phenomenal players like A'ja, Phee, Sab, Stewie, Britney, etc. I expect the upward trend to continue moving forward, once Paige, JuJu, and others arrive.

We already have one new expansion team starting next year, two more on the way shortly, and plenty of other cities talking and thinking about it. The future is bright for this league, and I'm here for it.

Hannah Hidalgo too. One hell of a talent right there who's starting to steal the spotlight from JuJu a little bit the same way America's Girl stole the spotlight from Paige Bueckers.

I can't wait for Paige Bueckers to enter the W.

I obviously don't watch college, but Hannah is described via a quick Google search as a defensive floor general. That's my kind of point guard. Let's go. ^_^

Unrelated, but I agree completely with your earlier comment about the women's vs. the men's game. I never thought I would see the day when I knew more current WNBA players' names than current NBA players' names. That's wild. It definitely used to be the other way around.
 
So true. Sue Bird hits it on the nose.

The WNBA Rookie of the Year receiving the TIME Athlete of the Year award has raised all kinds of heckles around the league. But retired player Bird was and remains a CC fan. Rather, she remains a fan of the sport she played for 19 years as a pro and the league she played it in.
