World 600 Pre-race thread

I don't have a lot of hair, but that haircut is just badly executed.

My eyes were burning looking at it.
I was probably 10 or 11 and I'd been given $2 to get a haircut. A friend and I got the bright idea of him cutting my hair so I could use the money to buy a model car kit. Turned out about as well as Austin's...

It's a popular cut, shave the sides, leave the top long. I have a nephew uses that cut. I hate it.

I'm sure anyone who's going tomorrow already has their tickets but they have removed every other row of seats in all of the GM section and it looked like part of Ford also and replaced it with a small shelf in front of you.

Xfinity cars are faster than the cup cars here.

Yikes.

They did that in Upper Ford before last Oct, maybe even before Oct '19; I don't recall exactly which.

Thats actually pretty cool. Is there another track that gives the GA an area to put food, drink, headsets, phone, etc... like this?

Yeah, but he cared about how his hair looked on TV. This is a tough guy sport. Yikes.

Yeah, NASCAR Radio blowing that off, but it matters. It just does.

NASCAR killed 5 or 6 Touring Series because the coil-over rack and pinion cars were faster than the Cup cars at shared venues.

Ty Gibb’s ARCA pole lap time of 29.952 at 180.288 mph.

Kyle Larson Cup pole lap time of 29.953 at 180.282 mph.

Ty’s time in an ARCA car is fast enough to sit on the pole for the Coca Cola 600.

Just relaxing 😎 on our balcony, Florida, lake view, cold beverage, remembering all the Charlotte races I’ve attended over the years (NC born n’ raised, lived in Concord for many years before the moves). Charlotte is a special track for many reasons.

I was a Cubmaster way back, and every year CMS offered scout troops free tickets to the Saturday Busch series races. We took scouts every year, and they loved it! We tied racing into the Pinewood Derby events. I know it helped create a lot of long term NASCAR fans.

Charlotte was where I took my girlfriend to her first race while we were dating in college. She became a fan real quick. Found out how she secretly loved to wind out her inherited Pontiac 442 over 100 MPH on long country road stretches! We later took her folks to a World 600 (their first race). Then we got married and still, almost 40 years later, continue to watch NASCAR every weekend. We attend when we can (mostly Homestead and occasionally Daytona). When I retire we’re going to hit a lot more tracks as we‘re able.

So here’s to another chapter in the great history of America’s longest stock car race!

Hate to say it but I'm not optimistic for a good race with the tire fall-off expected to be minimal. Plus the PJ1 might not get activated too well with the cooler temps. But hopefully I'm wrong!
